Lynn-Dah-The-Chowbrador would beg to differ.

Not only does she have a dedicated staff of one (ME) who feeds her, drives her around, gives her a lovely bed to sleep in, and exercises her daily.

I also sing to her, but she is losing her hearing.

My healer mix is now 15 years old. She is losing some of her eyesight & some of her hearing.

However, her nose works just fine & she checks for coyote activity smells every morning when I feed the horses, and again at night.

She was a shelter dog who finally got caught with her brother after running free for over 4 months. She is still such a dumpster diver that ALL my wastebaskets re on the counters, etc.

Most of my 9 or ten dogs I have owned over the past 50++ years have lived to at least 14 years of age. A couple of them did extensive traveling with me in my car or in my dually truck. They have seen more of the USA than many ordinary people who were born here. Watch dogs, and sleep on the bed with me....under the covers in the winter.

My horses have had good long lives, also. One mare was over 30 when she colicked and I had had her 98 days short of 25 years. She produced 2 foals for me & many years of pleasurable riding.
