Why Donald Trump Is Winning Iowa (ignorant white people with no college education)
The Wall Street Journal ^ | 09/23/2016 | DAVID KOCHEL

Posted on 09/23/2016 4:44:04 PM PDT by E. Pluribus Unum

David Kochel worked on six presidential campaigns in Iowa and five campaigns for Iowa Gov. Terry Branstad (R.). He was chief strategist to Jeb Bush’s presidential campaign and was an adviser to Mitt Romney’s presidential campaigns in 2008 and 2012. He is a fellow at Harvard’s Institute of Politics. He is on Twitter: @DDKochel.

Donald Trump is poised to win Iowa, a state carried by Democrats in six of the past seven presidential elections. After a string of fresh surveys, the Real Clear Politics average in Iowa shows Mr. Trump with a 6.3% lead, his strongest in any battleground state. My firm’s poll, not included in the RCP average, shows Mr. Trump leading there 43% to 42%. That makes four polls in a row that show him ahead, a solid trend.

One tell-tale sign: The much-ballyhooed Clinton ground game appears to be faltering in Iowa, as evidenced by the lackluster opening performance among early voters. The Democratic turnout machine typically spends months rounding up unreliable Democratic ballots and Democratic-leaning no-party voters. At this point, however, the Hillary Clinton effort has produced fewer than half of the ballot requests collected by the Obama campaign in 2012 and significantly less than the 2014 turnout as well. Some Democrats have told me that they deliberately pushed back the start of their efforts, which presumably would help increase participation. But it’s still a striking underperformance. My anecdotal observation of yard signs while riding my Victory Kingpin in Sen. Joni Ernst’s second “Roast and Ride” fundraiser in August was that Donald Trump owns rural Iowa, even Democratic-leaning towns in eastern Polk County.

He is winning in Iowa because the people of Iowa see their country being invaded and want it stopped.

OK good, maybe now they can tell us why the Wall Street Journal is such a waste of time, space and money.

With a resume like this:

” He was chief strategist to Jeb Bush’s presidential campaign and was an adviser to Mitt Romney’s presidential campaigns in 2008 and 2012.”

Sounds like he might qualified to work for the Ringling Brothers circus cleaning up after the elephants, but not much else. I don’t know that I would expect him to be able to dig a ditch in a straight line.

“I’d put Iowa in the Trump column, even though it has been reliably Democrat since 1988. It sits right in Donald Trump’s demographic sweet spot,”

Yeah, Iowans hate Clinton. They have since 2008 when they gave their caucus to Obama.

It kills these elites that the masses of the great unwashed and unshaven types even get to vote.

They are bigots and commonorphobic!
