"WASHINGTON, Sept 23 (Reuters) - In an abrupt shift, U.S. Senator Ted Cruz endorsed Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump on Friday, saying he is the only candidate who can stop Democrat Hillary Clinton from winning the White House on Nov. 8.

"A year ago, I pledged to endorse the Republican nominee, and I am honoring that commitment. And if you don't want to see a Hillary Clinton presidency, I encourage you to vote for him," the former Republican presidential candidate said in a lengthy statement. Cruz, a senator from Texas who is a favorite of the conservative Tea Party movement, was one of Trump's last challengers for the Republican presidential nomination to drop out of the race."

Cruz obviously realized that Trump now has a realistic chance to win. It’s a pity he couldn’t have swallowed his pride and endorsed Trump at the convention, but better late than never.

Agree with everything you said. The Trump campaign is gaining momentum daily. Cruz’ belated endorsement can only help.

After all the acrimony and personal attacks between each other on this side, we can all agree to hate Her more than we hate each other. Thats satisfactory.

It is people like you that do little to cause division among the electorate . Cruz is a man of honor. I followed his career since he was a young asst AG in Texas fighting against several nations and arguing on behalf of the two young girls murdered by illegals. He won and it was a big win. I watched Cruz fight McConnell and call him a “liar” and he was right; he fought against the Obama budget and was attacked over the shutdown by the republicans and democrats. Recently he has been fighting to prevent the give away of the internet. Cruz was damned if he did and damned if he didn’t. Trump is delighted and of course Pence is delighted since his first choice was Cruz. Donald Trump responded to Cruz’s endorsement in a short statement released on Friday afternoon:

“I am greatly honored by the endorsement of Senator Cruz. We have fought the battle and he was a tough and brilliant opponent. I look forward to working with him for many years to come in order to make America great again.”

So, he too was a traitorous scoundrel until he decided to endorse Trump. That actually says a lot about what he really is. His pro-TPP position will destroy this country.

His past actions disqualify him from that position. He is a proven LIAR. That is not a SCOTUS attribute.

Cruz is a calculating dip wad and so are you. He only signed onto the pledge in the first place to keep Trump from running third party, he never imagined Trump was going to win. When he did Cruz went back on his word and you can't rationalize it any other way. He is now endorsing because RNC threatened to withhold money or even a place on any ticket, if they didn't keep their word.

Honor is not something that is provisional, you either have it or you don't, Ted don't.
