"WASHINGTON, Sept 23 (Reuters) - In an abrupt shift, U.S. Senator Ted Cruz endorsed Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump on Friday, saying he is the only candidate who can stop Democrat Hillary Clinton from winning the White House on Nov. 8.

"A year ago, I pledged to endorse the Republican nominee, and I am honoring that commitment. And if you don't want to see a Hillary Clinton presidency, I encourage you to vote for him," the former Republican presidential candidate said in a lengthy statement. Cruz, a senator from Texas who is a favorite of the conservative Tea Party movement, was one of Trump's last challengers for the Republican presidential nomination to drop out of the race."

“If Trump wins, all will be forgiven.
And Cruz will probably be the next SCOTUS Justice.”

A number of people are saying this, but I don’t think Cruz wants that.

I think he wants to stay in politics — maybe gov. of Texas and also run for president again.

Cruz lost me months ago with action and inaction that told me he was more interested in his political future than the future of America - the definition of a corrupt politician. I’m glad he endorsed Trump which he should have long ago but this slick, untrustworthy Harvard lawyer needs to go do something else IMO.

LOL!!They don’t really understand how much in the minority they are. There are many Cruz supporters who are happy he did it and others have carefully weighed his words and are heeding his warnings about the Hildebeast. PoliticallyDeadTED is now Semi-PoliticallyDeadTED. He needs to do more but this is a good start.

Ted Cruz, the consummate politician, has now succeeded in pissing off absolutely everyone.

Lyin’ Ted should’ve put on his globalist Benny Hinn end of times prophecy “Purifying Fire” Raphael Cruz persona and gone on television and healed a few people with Glen Beck playing a John the Baptist type of character. He’d be better off rather than having to forced to endorse.

Priebus said non-supporters couldn’t run as RNC candidates in 2020...maybe had something to do with Cruz’s change of heart.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

How about congressional elections in 2018? A lot of those a-holes are “never Trumpers” too. Screw the lot of them.

Plus all the senators who have reelection campaigns in 2018 too?

Yes, I think you have it.

Cruz is suffering the consequences back in TX and now he’s twisting about.

He shouldn’t have run in 2016, he is not a natural born citizen.

Why would we want someone on the Supreme Court that does not know what natural born citizen means?

Cruz did the right thing for all the wrong reasons. It`s not about his `conservative principles`, and prayer had nothing to do with it. He just realized that there was no future in being the leader of a small, fringe group of bitter cranks.

‘Has anyone been to Right Scoop to see how they`re handling this?.’

Not me. But I visited The_Donald subreddit, where Cruz’ standard pre-endorsement nic was El Rato. The tune has changed:

‘Texan here. Ted Cruz pulled off an almost impossible win here when he ran against Dewhurst, who was the Republican establishment pick and had insane amounts of money but still lost when grassroots voters united behind the most Conservative candidate.

PUT ASIDE THE BULLSH[!]T, CRUZ IS ON THE TRUMP TRAIN.’

Another example of what the Trump centipedes on reddit are saying:

‘DO YOU SEE THIS, SHILLARY SUPPORTERS? THIS IS THE INCLUSIVENESS OF A REAL MOVEMENT! MAGA’

Well it`s good to see that at least some of the few remaining die hard Cruzers are getting on board even though at this point I don`t think there are enough of them where their support will really matter one way or the other.

Still, Trump is a closer, so he will accept Cruz`s endorsement.
