It's way past time, but better late than never.
Cruz was hoping and working for a Hillary-win. But I guess Cruz is starting to worry that Trump may win, and for his own career, he decided that he better get on the Trump train.

The endorsement could come as early as Monday...
Well, whatsay we all wait until Monday and see for certain,

. Those sources noted that Cruz has become seriously concerned about the long-term threats to the Constitution and conservative priorities, should Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton win the White House, Nah. He's concerned he won't find a donor base willing to fund his next campaign unless he endorses Trump.

You got it. Cruz finally saw the writing on the wall and went into self-preservation mode.

“Ted Cruz endorsement of Donald Trump forthcoming”
I’ll believe it when I see it.
Trump must be doing extremely well in the polls if Cruz is willing to turn his back on the Clinton supporters like Romney and Graham who Cruz previously followed.
Or maybe he was expecting some form of payment or favor from the Romney/Clinton people for opposing Trump and they double crossed him.

All going according to plan. Cruz and the rest of the Never Trumper wanted to continue the primary up until the debates. That was the point of his tantrum at the convention. Trump didn’t take the bait and Cruz got blow back so he stayed quiet.
Now that Cruz has established his moral superiority over “NY Liberal” Trump and his unwashed supporters Cruz is able to support the defeat of Hillary Clinton. Very brave of Cruz, no doubt. LOL.

That would be my guess. It’s for certain it’s not because he’s concerned about the good of the country or he would have done it long ago.

Again?! This is posted earlier. As I wrote then: Too little, too late. Lyn Ted is history and not actions now, short of apologizing and resigning from Senate would be acceptable. Even then, good riddance to him. As Ive said before, I will donate to his opponent, first the Republican, then the Democrat, if need be, to see he does not win re-election. It is too bad the RNC is too gutless to kick him, Jeb, and the others out of the party. The Senate should remove him from his committee assignments. The guys a loser and lost every issue in the senate hes touched anyway.

His speech writers are working hard right now. So far they have:
I was looking forward to working with Hillary but she'll be dead within a year. Kaine is crazy and likely can't be bought. So "go Trump?"
The speech writers are debating on if the ending should be a question mark or period. They have decided against an exclamation point.
But seriously. Cruz was my 2 choice most of the last year. I hope he rehabilitates my opinion of him if/when he stops helping Hillary. I can understand his hard feelings. But we have HILLARY vs TRUMP. Family is above politics. But nothing will change what Trump said about his family. Siding with Hillary doesn't just get revenge on Trump but hurts the entire country and pretty much everything Cruz has ever said he stands for.
