DEBATE RULES: NO COUGHING BREAKS
Drudge ^ | 9/23/2016

Posted on 09/23/2016 8:44:19 AM PDT by BlackFemaleArmyColonel

If presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton slips into a coughing fit or any other medical crisis during Monday's high-stakes debate, she will have to power through, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned!

"There are no commercial breaks," a commission source explains. "Period."

Debate moderator Lester Holt does not have the authority to cut away from the stage during the epic 90-minute showdown. And microphone audio for either of the candidates is not to be manipulated.

Clinton has experienced severe coughing episodes throughout the election year. During a Labor Day campaign stop she suffered a 4-minute choking marathon.

Monday's throwdown could top out at 100 million viewers, making it the biggest political event in history.

EDITOR'S NOTE: The presidential debate commission settled an early flashpoint when Clinton demanded a step-stool at the podium to add height to her 5'4" frame. Campaign Chairman John Podesta expressed concern that Hillary would be dwarfed by 6'2" Trump. The request was quickly rejected. The commission is allowing for a custom-made podium, which will accommodate the difference in stature.

The commission is allowing for a custom-made podium, which will accommodate the difference in stature.

They did this for Carter, so he and the taller Ford would appear to be the same height. I cannot imagine they didn't in Dukakis (short) versus George the Elder (tall).

But here's the rub, how ill Hillary climb up the podium?

“It is beneath the dignity of the office, the nation, and myself to share the stages with a racist deplorable. Therefore I will not be attending the debates.” - Hillary Clinton, Sunday

Not to sway too far off topic, if you have not been hydrating for a couple of days a bottle on the lectern is not going to help.

When I worked with college sports teams I would see the freshmen make this mistake all of the time. They would drink a lot of water or gatorade at game time, and still cramp up.

If she is not sucking it down starting today, there is a good chance will will flame out.

If she’s standing on a heighth enhancer that just means she has farther to fall to the ground when she has an “episode”.

What are the rules regarding earpieces?

She might have her hair plastered with hairspray to cover the earpiece this time.

Wasn’t Shrillary late returning from a potty break during one of the Democratic debates?

Yes, and believe it or not -- it's because someone was already in the bathroom.

Hillary refused to use the bathroom while someone else was in there. So, they had to wait until the other person left.

Physical ailments will help herein the sympathy vote. At least for her supporters. The whole media will be out in force lamenting mean Trump picking on a poor rail woman. How deplorable.

“I'm sure they'll have bottled water at the lecterns.”

More liquids means frequent urination. She will have to ration her intake. No way my husband would make it 90 minutes without a pee break while drinking fluids!

“”There are no commercial breaks,” a commission source explains. “Period.””

Another thought....

Does this “commission source” mean that there will be no commercials, period (like “you can keep your doctor, period”?, or that the candidates cannot take a break during commercials?

Also, who would deny Hitlery immediate medical attention if obviously needed?

Finally, if they did cut away and let her change her diaper, it sounds like ONLY Trump would complain, so Big Media could spend the next 46 days calling him a liar across the top of every “news” broadcast.

“So in classic weasel fashion the result is the same.”

Not at all. If anything, Hillary’s child-sized podium will emphasize her child-sized stature.

And her campaign was right to be concerned about the height differential: a multitude of studies confirm the legitimacy of “tall-man” syndrome in both government and private business.

After the first debate, we’re going to hear a lot of “I had NO idea that Hillary was THAT short”.

Hey, it would be cute to see Clinton at tall podium, just her eyes showing.

I'm thinking something along the lines of Tim Allen's neighber Wilson. :=)

I remember that. At the end Bush came down to center to do a handshake with Dukakis if I recall.

“Is Hillary allowed to be seat-belted to her podium?”

Someone yesterday posted one of those old postmortem family photos of a kid with a support post in back holding his body upright for the photo.

She'll just re-channel her coughing - "Well, you didn't say anything about farting."

“Geez. I would think both candidates need at least one bathroom break.”

Anything spoken by this administration or representatives with a “period” at the end has been proven false.

She will be medicated with an entire pharmacy, but media will say she heroically “powered through” despite “recovering from pneumonia”.

I have seriously doubts that will work given what happened to Adolf Hitler when he was medicated with increasingly "quackish" medications by Dr. Theodor Morell during the 1940's. There is some whispers Hillary is medicated with a LONG list of medications that could be akin to what Dr. Morell tried to do.

They will just put a three inch diameter pipe where a bar stool chair would be. She will be impaled onto the pipe and the curtain will be pulled back to show a standing Hillary.
She can rotate on her pop sickle seat, but she can’t move from that spot.
She’ll be “stump broke” where she stands!!

so distracted by the prospect of falling off the stool, it would have made her go into one of her spells, maybe even fall off of it

Fortunately, I was only on the first rung.
