Don't listen to the nattering nabobs of negativity, Senator. Just do it. It's way past time and it's the only way to redeem yourself in this critical election. We cannot allow Hillary to become president where she will stack the courts with God-hating, America-hating leftists. Granting amnesty alone will destroy America, not to mention opening our borders to all comers including Jew-hating, Christian-hating Muslim jihadists.

Now is the time for all good men to come to the aid of their country.

This explains some of the crazy stuff #alwaysCruz supporters have been shouting over the last 12 hours.

Cruz should outline the SCOTUS argument and endorse based on that. It’s plenty of reason.

How much do you think Trump would gain from a Cruz endorsement? It had no bearing on your decision to support Trump. I think Cruz had some supporters but not too many followers. It seems like plenty of his supporters got on board a long time ago. No validation was needed.

He ought to endorse. Should have done so at the convention. The funny thing though, is if he endorses today, I'd be willing to bet that Trump would be absolutely willing to just say "bygones" and move forward together. I particularly liked Trump's spokesman's comment the other day about Bush not supporting him. I thought it was a pretty mature and reasonable response.

You fight like hell during the game, then shake hands afterwards. I think that Donald Trump understands that. I'm hoping Cruz has gotten over his primary season butthurt and can be a man.

If Teddy does not endorse Trump, he is implicitly endorsing Hillary!.

I’m a Cruz guy, and I invite him to join those of us who think it’s important that Trump wins.

“They worry that the Texas senator could squander his brand as a fighter”

Jim, that’s the post of the day! Cruz is long past having anything left to “squander.” I just hope the good people of Texas do not return him to the US Senate, because I am of the opinion that he will use every device available to him to undermine President Trump. And he will do that simply to advance his own sorry political career or what’s left of it.

Cruz can endorse Trump but he’ll always be suspect.

He’s got no brand left... I think he realizes that he put himself in a position where even re-election in TX may be difficult for him.

“They worry that the Texas senator could squander his brand as a fighter — and goodwill earned among many through his stubborn refusal to back his party’s nominee — if he caves with nothing to show for it.”

Are these people really this delusional? Trump has over 80% of his party’s support and is winning (often by big margins) among independents. Take into account also that at least half the NeverTrumpers are the sort of very moderate, globalist, establishment Republicans who can’t stand Cruz either, and that leaves very scant actual support for Cruz in the future if he continues to stab his party in the back this election (which is simply unforgivable—it’s wrong to put hurt feelings above the good of the country like he has been doing). It’s too late and he’s alienated far too many for him to still have realistic presidential hopes (he couldn’t even get a quarter of the vote before his brand was damaged), but at least he could quell some of the resentment among conservatives over what he’s done and probably save his senate seat.

Reince let the people who broke their contracts with the RNC to support the nominee (while taking RNC information in return) know they were destroying their careers as Republicans. Kasich can simply switch to the Dems, but that would be ridiculous for Cruz. If Cruz is smart, he will see the light and stop his insane efforts to help Hillary Clinton, who stands for everything he claims he opposes.

If Cruz does endorse Trump, Cruz is only doing it in an attempt to help himself.

If Cruz truly cared about the good of election, or party or the People, Cruz would have endorsed Trump months ago.

Cruz laid himself bare during primaries and it was ugly to look at then and still is now, because his decisions are always about him, selfish, not self-less.

Totally agree. Cruz needs to get unquestionably on board. He claims to be a defender of the constitution well if Clinton wins he might as well set it on fire for all it will be worth under a Left wing SCOTUS.

I agree, for principle’s sake, but I think redemption is pretty much out of the question. Cruz revealed himself, and I suspect he is toast politically. I only hope a real conservative steps up to challenge him at the next primary.

Regardless that Ted Cruz is a closet Bushie, with Neil Bush on his campaign...

I thought there was a bit of research somewhere on FR about Cruz taking money from the Clinton campaign a some months ago... I think on an airplane?

I believe the poster thought that this was why Cruz’s convention speech was worded in such an inflammatory manner.

Okay here is a DC Whispers article: http://dcwhispers.com/ted-cruz-photographed-barack-obama-valerie-jarrett-hillary-clinton-days-gop-convention/
