When I was stationed in Germany as a MP, we had to go the the Train Station in Bebra on weekends to make sure no Drunk Soldiers rode into East Germany. On one visit an older gentleman, with a prosthetic leg, walked up to me and said “you see what your father did to me.” I replied “Nah, if my dad shot you, you'd be dead.”
He just chuckled and walked away. Wonder what would have happened to me in this day and age.
