heard a local radio guy yesterday talking about a Readers Digest article called "The 50 Most Trusted Brands". He goes "oh yeah, now they want to tell us what brands we like. I don't think so!" Guy was about 35 maybe 40. People are finally getting it.

They say true journalism has been dead for some time.
Believe it started to die in the 60’s and 70’s when there were a number of concerted efforts from liberals and communists to take over the schools of journalism in the colleges and universities.
True journalism may have completely died about 2008.
But the question is, How can it come back to life?
It is up to US. And by that I mean conservative institutions need to pick up the slack and provide a better option. Perhaps colleges like Hillsdale should offer a journalism course to produce a REAL objective journalist, and then let the market prove them right... JMHO

You are spot on with having institutions like Hillsdale teach “real journalism.” However, we must do our part also. Until companies who advertise and support entities who are free from the confines of liberal group think and political correctness there will not be much of a market for real journalism. I would like to think that people remain skeptical of the news, but it largely boils down to financial decisions.
Consumers must bring about change with their wallets. That is the real way to get the attention of MSM. As long as corporate advertisers continue to fund MSNBC, CNN, and the other primary offenders nothing will change no matter how obvious their bias or how much we laugh at them. Bad theater will always exists as long as they sell tickets.
Nobody has voted yet. If they know they’ve blown their credibility, which they have, and they are still willing to do it, then it is likely they are willing to manipulate the vote.
It isn’t who votes. It’s the one’s who count the votes.

It's fiction, predicting the downfall of progressives and the rise of constitutional conservatism. However, I think you will notice right away that the real timeline has diverged from the fictional timeline since Kurt wrote it back in 2013-2014 (it was published in June, 2014).
Specifically, Hillary Clinton is elected in 2016 and re-elected in 2020 in Kurt's fictional timeline. Of course, Clinton was a disaster -- ruthlessly suppressing dissent and humiliated by a failed invasion of Iran. In 2024, voters were tired of progressives and chose a conservative woman.
I just went back to read the first part of the book. Kurt's description of Marlowe (the fictional conservative President) sounds a lot like someone you may know:
So, Kurt predicted the rise of a new type of candidate -- it's just happening 8 years earlier.
No one is listening to the Ministry of Propaganda anymore and it is killing them.
They are used to producing a narrative and having everyone go along with it.
