Truth be told, a new Toyota also takes years in the making -- steady continuous improvement.

$4 billion for one small ship is an outrageous price. For another $9 billion I'd rather have another aircraft carrier. It's more flexible and would carry a heckuva lot more firepower.

In a Trump presidency, warships will get built better at much lower cost. All it takes is some American ingenuity. The Zumwalt ship sounds like it was designed by globalist and the Cheap Labor Express.

I'm no expert, but the Zumwalt is sounding like an Edsel.

The Zumwalt’s have been relegated to a career as testbed ships. There’s only going to be 3 of them. They’ll eventually mount a rail-gun on them and test a bunch of next-gen electronics. But the fruit of that testing will be mounted on a cheaper-design ship. Those ships will presumably be built in greater numbers and be more likely to be successful from the outset.

And the difference: when your Toyota stops, get out and open the hood ...
