I wholeheartedly agree with you. My husband and I did not meet until later in life. Both had failed marriages to people who did not fulfill the covenant of marriage as it should have been. This marriage is on that covenant footing. Like everybody’s, good and bad, but such a gift. Almost 10 yrs now :)
And we had a male aquaintance thru work who was going thru one on “those” divorces. Couple of children, he was trying to save the marriage, as they were arguing she fell backward over a box. (His things she packed) God, in His mercy, provided a witness, neighbor trying to assist the moving. Her lawyer got pictures of a gash or bruise on the woman’s face and alleged abuse. The witness saved the guy. You know in this day and age he would have been in jail.
I dont condone family violence either, it did happen to me in the distant past, but that pendulem has swung too far.
“Yes, I do. That comment stung me. I was a single mom supporting 2 kids at the time. (Not my choice) I would have loved that opportunity to stay home baking those cookies, well, pies for me ;)”

It was a hurtful comment; as usual, she has a tin ear.
As for this post...so sorry for your friend. Lawyers can be nasty.
And congratulations to you for working so hard for your children; happy that you found love. :)
