Kaine was quoting Trump from months ago when Trump expressed that he had an urge to punch violent protestor in the face...although at the time Trump also made it clear that we have to simply tolerate them and he discouraged violence. Kaine took Trump out of context and created a false narrative on that Trump was promoting violence, which was simply wrong. Nor was Kaine held accountable to denounce the thugs that were using violence and threats to shut down free speech and the violence that had to be endured by Trump and his supporters.
Also Kaine misquoted the Donald on his comments about the NRA. Kaine repeated the misquote and promoted the false narrative that Trump had suggested the NRA do something violent.
You are using as your standard, "some basis in rational argument" and "agreed facts." News has moved way beyond that. See "Skittles are racist," and "Birtherism is racist" and a host of other irrational claims by the established media. Heck, even "Trump is an anti-Mexican bigot because he accused Curiel of having personal bias" is pure fiction, irrrational, no basis in fact, none.
That Kaine threatened to punch Trump in the nose can be proven by cherry picking words from the transcript.
