Colin Kaepernick's protest has turned ugly. The 49ers' quarterback revealed on Tuesday that he's received death threats from "a couple different avenues," according to Bleacher Report's Tyler Dunne.
The Mercury News' Cam Inman provided more information:
Kaepernick said he does not alert team security in the wake of such threats, because, "to me, if something like that were to happen, you've proved my point and it will be loud and clear for everyone why it happened, and that would move this movement forward at a greater speed than what it is even now.

Anyone in the public eye gets death threats from internet nuts. I’ve gotten nasty anonymous letters just from writing a letter to the local paper. Judging from their grammar, spelling, handwriting, and the spiral-ring note paper they use, I’d guess buying a stamp was a major drain on their welfare check.
I wouldn’t want to see anybody shoot Colon Copperdink, but I would love to see a veteran punch him in the face.

There are things we all dislike about our government. That needs to change, but this dim bulb hasn’t a clue what is important or isn’t.

You and me both. If my physical state was altered that dramatically, that permanently, I have no idea how i would deal with it. The first and biggest step would be acceptance of my new form. Some amputees will use the prosthetic limbs when leaving the house, and others decide not to. I’m guessing the level of achievable comfort will vary patient to patient.
They should have thought of that before they glorified these ungrateful jerks. How many TV directors I wonder were told to make sure they got shots of the overpaid, undeserving morons dissing their country and fellow Americans.

I have heard that this whole sitting for the anthem was nothing more than a scam. Having been warned that he was going to be dropped from the team. Our young hero concocted this controversy to shame the 49er’s owners with being called racist for cutting him.
There truly is injustice in the world. For example, I got mugged at gunpoint by a couple of black guys. Perhaps he would stand for the National Anthem if I were to successful mug a couple of black guys in the name of justice. /s

When will we start calling out this “death threats” tactic employed by the left. Since the internet and “new media” liberals are more likely to get caught in malfeasance or acting in an utterly ridiculous manner. When public opinion turns against them, like clockwork the “death threats” are mentioned by the media. Apparently, since noone deserves the death penalty for sitting during the anthem or creating a hate crime hoax, it provokes sympathy for the wrongdoer, equates the criticism with violent barbaric behavior and ultimately shuts off any kind of discussion on the matter
