The Feebs will take the credit, but the NYPD CSU got the fingerprint off the device, local private surveillance cameras got his image, NYPD Highway Patrol stopped the five trying to escape( no guys, the FBI does not make traffic stops) and the Linden NJ cops brought the perp down, alive, which some in the federal govt might not have wanted. So big kudos yo the local LEOs.
PART of the system worked, but it is cold comfort to the injured and the dead (thankfully, not in this case) to know that the perp was caught. Let's see more work on the protect side, not just the serve. Cold comfort to the LEO community, too, that they catch these guys but the judicial system streets them almost immediately.
