From 2007-2009 I spent a lot of time in the NJ/NYC are for work, and for the most part was staying in a hotel in Piscataway, not too far from Elizabeth. There was a walmart there where I went for a lot of my general needs, and even then I was kind of shocked by the number of obviously American women wearing full muslim garb.
I grew up in Carteret. I worked a few blocks from there in Roselle for a while.
Piscataway, Edison, and Woodbridge NJ are like walking around the UN headquarters.
