Do we need to send money to friends to keep a friendship? While not a fan of Ron Paul I agree with part of his position. Remove Israel and attach it to any and all countries we do this for; Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Iran, Africa....Ron is right, I’m tired of US supplementing any countries for that matter. We are broke and continuing to spend money we do not have. When the debt is called is there a doubt in anyone’s mind these countries will slowly back away as if to pretend they never heard that call? Think they’ll come to the financial aid of the US?

Not for a second

It's worth noting that U.S. aid has been a subject of contention in many Islamic countries in the Middle East. Egypt is a good example of this. I'm not referring to U.S. aid to Israel, either ... I'm talking about the U.S. aid to Egypt.

One of the things you never hear about is that this money has a lot of strings attached to it, and there are vocal factions in these countries who claim that the U.S. money has completely corrupted their governments.

I can't say I disagree with that, either -- when I see how corrupt our own country has become.

For any country BUT, Israel and South Korea, I agree. And this includes well-to-do NATO countries.
