You’re claiming it’s corporate greed, but maybe it’s not as simple as that. Perhaps these companies are struggling to remain competitive. If that’s so—and many think that plays a major role—then what makes it so difficult to compete? American taxes and regulations.

Plus, even if a company wants to hire Americans, they compete against other companies who take advantage of illegals and H1B. Case in point is a company I hired to do some concrete work. They claimed they were the last all American company in town—that all the others were hiring illegals. Keep in mind they still needed to make a living and be competitive against these other companies. If immigration law isn’t enforced, the law abiding companies are DRIVEN from the market, my FRiend.

The problem is...government!

Define struggling to remain competitive. They are struggling to grow earnings 6-8% a year, which is why they are doing it. I don’t know that I care about that. Agree with taxes and regulations (although some of the large MNCs don’t mind the regs that much - makes it harder for smaller firms to get started/grow).

Which American taxes and regulations apply to McDonalds, but not to Chik-Fil-A or Wendy’s?

It's not just government or corporate greed. A recent survey showed that most Americans choose lowest price over the "Made in USA" label. If companies are going to sell their products in that environment, they're going to HAVE to go with cheaper labor.

If we want companies to hire Americans again, then WE have to make it profitable to do so by buying the products of those who do.

Did you not read the article? "To deliver $500 million in savings, the vast majority by the end of 2017, we are restructuring many aspects of our business, including an accounting function..." So what regulations suddenly made it necessary for McDonalds to outsource it's accounting?

This is greed, nothing more and nothing less. The promise to cut costs so that their stock prices go up. If you honestly believe that ending regulations and eliminating corporate income taxes is going to end this then you are naive. Cut back on regulations and eliminate taxes and the corporations will love you for it...and will continue to outsource everything they can.

The problem is always government. That's why illegal immigration needs to stop and the H1-B program needs to make companies pay more for these foreign workers than they would for a suitable American.

Flockov, troll.

Microsoft had a one-time dividend distribution of $57 BILLION. All in cash.

If they had invested that in State T-bills, they'd have earned a couple billion a year in interest AFTER taxes.

All without affecting the principal, and without affecting cash flow from continuing operations.

They could have replaced every single H1-B with an American programmer at full price without even exhausting the interest.

It is a combination of greed to an extent that makes the robber barons of the 1800s look charitable, and a hatred of white males.
