40 years ago, the nation celebrated the Bicentennial. Limited coins and stamps were issued, there was a gala parade of the “Tall ships” in New York and all over the country. There was an innate sense of pride and patriotism from sea to shining sea. Now, so many of the kids born AFTER 1976 think, in their distorted and ignorant views that by not standing for the national anthem, they are somehow advancing the battle of “social injustice” - by NOT honoring the flag an nation that gave them Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of happiness”.
