--SNIP-- Khalil Sulayman, 18, of Township Line Road, was locked up on aggravated assault and related offenses stemming from the melee, which ultimately left three police officers with injuries requiring hospital care, according to Chitwood and online court records.

“The key to this is the community members who came out. In this day and age, it is great to have that support,” Chitwood said. Along with a Harper Avenue resident who came out swinging his golf club during the police-involved altercation, Chitwood said at least two other Harper Avenue residents called 911.

A police officer was on his way to a disturbance but was obstructed and then assaulted by a yute. Not as serious as a cop shooting but consistent with the BLM culture of disrespecting police. It could have escalated to something more serious since the perp allegedly tried to grab his gun.

Sulayman was additionally charged with simple assault, reckless endangerment, harassment, criminal mischief, resisting arrest, disarming a law enforcement officer, public drunkenness, underage drinking and obstruction of highways and sidewalk.

I think felonious assault is in order here, not just simple assault. He is getting off too lightly in my opinion.
