Clinton Action Demonstrates Support for Coal Miners
AFL-CIO ^ | September 8, 2016 | AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka

Posted on 09/17/2016 11:19:33 AM PDT by mdittmar

America’s coal miners have sacrificed much for our nation, and we have an obligation to support them and their families. Unlike Donald Trump who says he’s with us but has nothing to show beyond the bluster, Hillary Clinton has our back. She proved it with a detailed $30 billion plan to revitalize coal communities, while Donald Trump says ‘trust me.’ She is proving it again today with her support of the Miners Protection Act. From the bargaining table to the ballot box, working people know who stands with us, not by words, but action.

I quickly looked up the miners protection act and it looks as though it is a fund to pay health insurance and maybe some other retiree benefits. Doesn’t sound like getting people back to work.

Earth to coal miners. How can Hillary do any of what she proposes without the Senate and House? She can't. So no matter what she or the union promises, the are pie-crust promises easily made, easily broken

Hillary will give them a welfare check, Trump will give them a paycheck.

Remember Democrat Governor Brian Schweitzer’s one campaign promise for two elections?

“I will turn Montana coal into oil!”

Not one drop.

He did manage to turn Montana taxpayer money into his mansion on Georgetown Lake.

I thought I heard that "Stronger Together" theme of hillarys somewhere before.

It's the afl-cio theme.

I had to look it up, I thought I had heard it before also.

You are right it is a union slogan

The key word is PLAN. As Obama himself pointed out Hillary will say anything to get elected. She did talk about job training, and moving miners elsewhere where there are jobs. How much of the $30 billion will go to the AFL-CIO?

I am the grandson of a coal miner from East Ohio. Grandpa hated unions (infiltrated by communists) in general & John L. Lewis in particular, especially when the newspapers ran photos of Lewis’s townhouses & limousines.

The last straw was Lewis ordering coal strikes in wartime. Grandpa, a WWI vet, got his boiler operator’s license & left mining forever.

But even John L. wasn’t a common thug like Trumka, who isn’t even a good liar anymore. “Hillary the friend of coal miners” - ha!

Coal communities need to be revitalized only because Obama killed the coal industry.

While visiting my hometown in 2006 I remember telling some idiot friends who were all for Schweitzer and the Democrats that they were being played. Now they are shutting down 2 of the 4 power plants there and he town is dying. Between leftists and Goldman-Sachs, the town, the coal and power companies, and the state of montana have been slaughtered, skinned, and feasted upon.

Don’t get me started on what they did to ranchers and farmers in that state with the feudal law forbidding the subdivision of farmland/ranches so that out-of-state billionaires could buy ranches up for nothing.

You nailed it, to these idiots spending money equates to solving problems. Just throw money at it, this happens all the time. The government does not create wealth and prosperity.

“Trumka, you don’t care about your members.”

Union leaders never do. Worked with enough of them over the year to realize the contempt they have for members, just like Dems generally and their contempt for “Joe Schmoe” the average voter.

"C'mon, you miners. The weather's great 400 ft up in the air -- much better than down in that dirty dark mine (just don't ask me what it's like up here from November to March). No cave-ins. No methane. No black lung. You can learn this high-paying trade in a couple of years. Don't forget to tie yourself off because that first step is a doozy!"

“Hillary Clinton has our back!” because that is the best place for a tick to feed because you cannot see them or reach them.
