I read the story but can’t figure out what the crime they’re being charged with is ? Anyone else know?
The actual legal terms vary from state to state, but in layman’s language they are being charged with solicitation of a minor. In the old days most states covered this under laws against “Gross Indecency” but somewhere along the way lawyers and judges decided people were too stupid to figure out what that was. So its been replaced with all kinds of laws that we used to cover with just the one.
They were arranging to have sex with 14 year old boys or Girls who were really policemen instead. When they showed up they were arrested. Minister thought he was meeting a 14 year old boy to have sex with.
