Stop the insanity! High school football fans told to stop chanting "USA, USA"

Patriotism is under fire in Western Michigan.

The OK Conference, representing 50 schools, has announced a crackdown on fans chanting, “USA” at football games. They are also implementing strict rules on flags and political banners.

“Coaches and fans are irate,” said Bill Simonson, the host of a statewide sports radio show. “People are tired of being told what flag to fly or what political side to lean towards.”

Mr. Simonson, who hosts “The Huge Show”, was the first to break this insane story.

The athletic conference’s crackdown comes after fans from a predominantly black school took offense after fans from a predominantly white school displayed a Betsy Ross flag and a “Make America Great Again” banner.

Critics called the flag racist and a local superintendent said it symbolized hate.

“To wave a historical version of our flag, that to some symbolizes exclusion and hate, injects hostility and confusion to an event where no one intended to do so,” wrote Forest Hills Public Schools Superintendent Daniel Behm in a letter to parents.

Simonson, host of "The Huge Show," told me local residents are furious.

“He painted a picture that the school is filled with insensitive people,” he said. ‘If Colin Kaepernick can have his freedom of speech and freedom of expression – guess what – it’s a two-way street.”

OK Commissioner Jim Haskins said their executive board decided that moving forward fans will only be allowed to chant “USA, USA” after the National Anthem.

If players can take a knee, maybe they can take a vocal cord.

Ignore this ruling. Mock anyone who attempts to enforce it.

Wonder if Faux is attempting to bait Trump with this story.

This is just sick. Total garbage.

If there are plans to put a stop to it they best get it done now, lest it reaches the point of no return.

USA flag vendors will have a bumper crop if they set up shop outside that football field.

Liberal: "I hate America, and I can say that because I have freedom of speech."

American: "I disagree."

Liberal: "Shut up! Shut up! Shut up! You can't say that to me! Saying that should be illegal! You racist! I have First Amendment rights, you know! So you just shut up!"

It’s time to stop these conferences - these are government schools and, as such, the first amendment applies fully. Therefore this is tantamount to government censorship, against the law and unconstitutional in word AND deed.

The conference board must be sued and face criminal penalties as well as the principles of these schools.

If they want to enforce some utopian ideology they can form their own private schools and do it there.

You want, maybe, that they chant, “Mex-ee-co, Mex-ee-co”?

I would never have thought to chant “USA” during a high school or college football game. Now that it’s banned, I love the idea.

My small town high school, Santa Fe, Texas made national news some years back for praying before football games.

The DOJ tried to shut them down. So, what happens at the next football game? They prayed, aloud the Lord’s prayer.

Made me proud.

I just watched the beginning of the 3:00 p.m. Faux news show. Flaming queer Shemp was absolutely livid about how Trump had punked them all with his “birther” statement. Naturally, Shemp included the lie that the Witch’s campaign didn’t start the whole story to discredit Obola.

I’d just add an appropriate defiant overtone, and continue the chant.

Any word on how these “rules” are going to be enforced?

I’d give them a choice:
1. Chant USA!
If the try to stop ya
2. Chant KMA!

Just some a hole from our local ghetto high school complained that it triggered her.

That same school ditched their Indian mascot too, so they are just a bunch of special snowflakes there.
