As with all cities certain parts are not safe
Gwinnett County is not part of Atlanta, but in the suburbs. Although I agree about avoiding staying in Atlanta itself. The nice hotels are egregiously expensive like all major metro area hotels and the cheaper lodgings in the city itself are usually in places that you wouldn't want to stay. Staying at models off the interstates outside the perimeter is usually safe enough.
There ought to be a law forcing the families of these criminals to pay for the cleanup and ammunition used in putting us out of the misery of existing with their offspring. Or at least a community civic responsibility fund that would do likewise, and give the shooter a box of ammunition, an hour at a range for practice, and a
“Good Citizen” certificate in an award ceremony somewhere.
That has happened here - there is/was a trailer park on the edge of Northport (nothing really divides Northport and Tuscaloosa except municipal lines) with a good portion of Hispanic residents. Apparently there had been a robbery previous to this one, which ended in murder.
As of this morning there is one less professional criminal in the metro area to commit these crimes. No committing crimes while out on bail. No committing crimes after being released from a short stint in prison. No more criminal behavior from this dirtbag ever. But I suspect he'll still vote democrat come the election this November.
