I remember watching the debate! And I remember Carter saying that he sought the advice of Amy on Nuclear War.
First debate I ever watched.
1966 Reagan vs. Robt. Kennedy was better. No records. Kennedy family didn’t want the loss exposed.
Remember those days well.
Better days, better ways.
IIRC, Amy was VERY actively involved in the Israel-Palestinian Peace Talks that included the godfather of modern islamic terrorism, Yasser (that’s my baby) Arafat.
It was nuclear non-proliferation that little Amy consulted Jimmah on. ;-)
same topics then as now
taxes
crime
terrorism
etc
more government seems to always be the answer
Is this the “There you go again” debate?
Federal Government keeps getting bigger.
If you really want to smile, go to youtube and watch 1980 election night coverage.
1980 was my first election and I haven’t missed one since.
I’ve this before and I’ll say it again; 2016 feels like 1980 to me. I’m cautiously optimistic.
I am very optimistic.
Watch it here. I smile every time I see it.
GO TRUMP!
I just don’t see how she will make it through a debate. I believe the mainstream media will change the format shorten it and start to downplay and make it a success if she just makes it to the debate is “healthy”... so no matter how he beats her into the ground she will be looked at by the media as the winner if she made it through the day in her current health condition. That will be lowering the bar as far as possible.
gonna be a sad debate.
2016 first Presidential debate,September,26th
“Are you better off than you were four years ago?”
I remember walkign into county Republican headquarters, where we’d been phone-banking, the following morning with a BIG smile.
“What are you so happy about?”, asked the (country-club) Republicans.
“We just won this election.”
“What do you mean?”
“Didn’t you see the debate last night?”
“Yeah. Didn’t think he was that impressive.” (I told you — country club Republicans.)
“Look there are only two things anyone’s going to remember, and they both work in our favor: ‘Nuclear proliferation, Daddy’ and ‘Are you better off than you were four years ago?’. Those are the only two things anyone remembers this morning. That’s why we just won this election.”
They kind of nodded; I think they were skeptical.
“It may even be big,” I added.
