Didn’t Sears start up the Prodigy online service? That was my introduction to the Internet back in the early 1990s. It was quite a clunky interface even for that time but they were among the first few along with CompuServe and AOL.
Another squandered opportunity.

sears is so technologically backwards, I don’t think they’ve even upgraded their point-of-sales systems since the ‘90s.
