Actually, once Apple increased server capacity, the installation of iOS 10.0.1 went well. My only problem was that it took THREE hours to update and install iOS 10.0.1 and also update all the apps on my iPhone 6, plus rebooting the phone a couple of times to make sure the LTE cellular data access worked correctly.

Wow, that’s a heck of an update! I get updates on my Galaxy Note 5 about every 6-8 weeks, and they typically take less than 20 minutes. That’s full OS download and install, then local recompile of all installed apps (about 100 of them) to support the new OS (Android no longer executes Java; it takes the Java APK and compiles it locally for direct machine language, and that means a recompile when the APIs of the OS are updated).

I update my main work computer in less than 30 minutes as well (Windows 10 Enterprise). It should NOT take longer than 30-40 minutes to do any phone OS upgrade, IMHO - and it should work right out the first time since the system is supposedly completely reset.
