I agree. Colin Kaepernick’s theatrics gave Trump a boost at a critical time.

I would like to hear Trump loudly condemn the actions of these crybaby NFL’ers. He may have done so already, but I would hammer it constantly. Because it is the NFL, it will get him coverage. There’s no way Hillary and Kaine will condemn the actions of a bunch of BLM’ers. They will be on the wrong side of this.

Ponder this, folks. The NFL punishes players with a penalty for celebrating/dancing too much after scoring a touchdown. And yet, when it comes to disrespecting our National Anthem the NFL feels it must respect player's freedom of expression.

Lloyd Marcus has a way of just being flat out insightful from time to time. I missed the connection but it's soooo obvious now that Marcus has pointed it out....

It is the WORK PLACE

The NFL could institute a policy if it wanted

I can see how it is possible that this anti-national anthem has developed out of the black lives matter movement(which I disagree with), but the bottom line is the USA has free speech and this is free speech.
I too am appalled with America for what the country has done for the past decade or two and where we are heading. No one should stop anyone from trying to improve our country by standing up for what they think. That is the basis for our country. They may be wrong, which I think they are, but they are standing for what they think.

Marcus is correct. The people who celebrate this sort of thing and the people who celebrate those who celebrate have such a death grip on the microphone that those who resent it bitterly have no real visibility except here on the Internet. We vote, though. And we’re pissed. And the fact that the America-haters have denied our right even to be angry as well as the means to express it means that they’ll be shocked when the tidal wave hits. That will validate their belief that the country is racist, but that’s about all it will do.

If anything as petty as the NFL has any real affect on our National well being, then this Nation is already dead.

“Ponder this, folks. The NFL punishes players with a penalty for celebrating/dancing too much after scoring a touchdown.”

Ponder this: the real reason that swishy celebration gyrating and chest slapping displays and brain dead anthem protests happen is because the cool NFL players can’t or won’t self police the jerks in their sport. Each game is too important and with a million camera angles, slo-mo replay and the modern penalty system make it too risky for the bottom line.

Excellent point. They're all about enforcing decorum when it suits them. Goodell and his cronies are weasels on so many levels. Same with the violence against women issue. When it suits them and when it hits them in the pocket book, they'll be concerned about it.

“My intention was to enjoy a leisurely Sunday afternoon on my sofa watching NFL football.”

There is the first problem that needs rectification! These indolent idiots who waste their time watching “professional sports” while sitting in front of their TV’s drinking beer and blowing farts need a political attitude adjustment. Either that, or they need to give up their right to vote.

No one seems to want to highlight the positive:

He’s also a San Fran player but you don’t see this in the news.
