This is breaking in Huntsville this morning. These guys were in a subdivision less than a mile from one of the gates at Redstone Arsenal.

Squatters involved in fraud, identity theft, terrorism? I’m shocked.

Clearly not serious enough for them to interrupt the national BS program. Have not heard anything on local radio.

The real question is how many of these attacks on U..S. soil will happen in October. The terrorists would be smart to lay low but what do I know?

So ironic. This is where my husband and I plan to retire. Thinking it would be reasonably safe. Foiled again.

I actually had land in Marshall County, just south of Huntsville. That was to be our “retirement getaway”. A few years back, we rescinded our claims on it because that whole area has gone downhill. Big meth problems. A lot of immigration and not much of it legal. Driving from Guntersville to Boaz along Highway 431 depressed us enough to say “no thanks”. It’s a shame because at one time it looked to be an up and coming area.

Frankly, the neighborHOOD outside the East gate to Redstone, is a rather run down seedy area primarily inhabited by...

What are the details? My home church is there and we’ve been sent overseas by that church. Many of our supporters work at Redstone.

Anything south of Huntsville puts you just that much closer to Birmingham. Not what I would call prime retirement country.

This is where my husband and I plan to retire. Thinking it would be reasonably safe.I recommend Inner Pennsylvania. It's very gun-friendly so you can keep yourself reasonably safe.
It's also gentle on the budget.

I saw it reported on several of the news channels last night and al.com. They showed pics of the home. Very nice looking home.
Huntsville/Madison County is still pretty nice area. With NASA and all the defense contractors in the area . . .

Marshall County is NOT Madison County. Big difference.

I don’t understand the squatter situation. Are there no trespassing laws in Alabama? Seriously.

The region....outside of the city....is about as safe as you can get. If you head either west or east out of Hunstville, four-star stable areas and low-crime. The heart of Hunstville....isn’t worth driving through and most of the mall business is on the outer ring of the city now.
