Those who show no mercy will be shown no mercy.
You will desire mercy one day and find none.
My dad was 19 and my mom was 14....They were married 58 years until my father’s death.4 kids..My mom has never looked at another man...She has severe dementia now and will be with my dad soon....My dad loved my mother till he drew his last breath and my mother has mourned his passing daily for 10 years now.
You are discoursing from a pamphlet.
I don’t recall having ever written a pamphlet.
Ever heard of the Sermon on the Mount? It’s in there.
The point of this article is that Wisconsin is one of the few states that doesn’t have a Romeo and Juliet exception.
The boy should self identify as a woman. There probably isn’t a law against under age lesbianism. They would be lauded and extolled for their courage.
Jury Nullification should take care of this case. Someone needs to make sure the jury pool is aware of and knows what the term “JURY NULLIFICATION” means.
“Usually these laws dont apply when the dude is so close in age”
Most of these situations are usually covered by state “Romeo and Juliet” laws.
I’d say that about 1/4 of my high school class would have been in prison. And that was a Catholic school!
In these dark times, with old laws and modern technology, the only kids left in a classroom might be geeks, dorks, dogs, and pizza-faces. Makes me glad that I am not a parent today. Who would believe that these problems could exist.
“So she’s 15.Unless there’s something here that I’m missing I’d vote not guilty.Of course if I was his father I’d have a few words for him about honor and decency just like my father had for me (thankfully).”
One night, a very angry father “explained” to a kid not to see his daughter again, after we heard screeching tires outside. It woke up the entire neighborhood. My dad told me to stay inside. No one called the police, and we never found out who was involved. That was the way problems were solved.
“Laws are for the guidance of wise men and the blind obedience of fools” Solon, the Lawmaker of Athens, d. 559 BC
But it very easily could have one.
That’s the rational middle ground on this issue.
Sure it could... someday. Not going to help this specific kid right now. I do find it surprising that WI doesn’t have a Romeo and Juliet law, it’s a very liberal state on the surface.
There are situations where a bad law is not,for whatever reason, rewritten. For example...if I was ever a juror in a case where one of the charges against a defendant was a "hate crime" I would *absolutely* vote not guilty on *that* charge because I refuse to accept the validity of "hate crime" laws.I couldn't care less if a guy assaulted another because the "assaultee" was black or because the defendant was just having a bad day.If the assault occurred and was not justified then the defendant deserves punishment but not *special* punishment because of the perceived motive.
In *this* case as well...if I was a juror I would very probably vote not guilty simply because of the small age gap.And I'd do so regardless of what the letter of the law might say.
Call it jury nullification if you wish.
