Since the states have never delegated to the feds, expressly via the Constitution, the specific power to regulate, tax and spend for either intrastate commerce or maternity leave purposes, constitutionally low-information Team Trump is blindly going down the wrongly path with this maternity leave plan imo.

Consider that if Trump worked with state lawmakers to put a stop to unconstitutional federal taxes, taxes which Congress cannot justify under its constitutional Article I, Section 8-limited powers, that each state would be able to find funding to establish its own maternity leave program.
Otherwise, if the states want a national maternity leave program, then Trump needs to do the following. He needs to start promising a maternity leave amendment to the Constitution at this time, just as FDR should have done before blindly leading low-information Congress to establish FDR’s unconstitutional “New Deal” programs.
And if Trump doesn’t start working with the states to politically force the corrupt Washington cartel to surrender 10th Amendment-protected state powers that the feds have stolen from the states back to the states, then it is only a matter of time before patriots are under the thumb of corrupt Congress working in cahoots with another lawless president.
Remember in November !
Patriots need to support Trump / Pence by also electing a new, state sovereignty-respecting Congress that will not only work within its constitutional Article I, Section 8-limited powers to support Trump’s vision for making America great again for everybody, but will also put a stop to unconstitutonal federal taxes and likewise unconstitutional inteference in state affairs.
Trump’s maternity leave plan, if not amended to the Constitution, would just add to existing federal interference in state affairs.
Note that such a Congress will also probably be willing to fire state sovereignty-ignoring activist justices.
This is not about employers paying this bill HOWEVER taxpayers will have to pay the UNEMPLOYMENT involved in his plan!!! This country has gone WAY to far left for s to turn the ship on a dime!!! Right NOW my main thing is immigration WITHOUT stopping the flow into our nation we will NEVER get the past 30 years of damage done even STARTED to be repaired!!! Education has destroyed the country we need 2 generations of reeducation of our kids to get rid of the liberal brainwashing in our kids!!! Charter schools popping up everywhere with a Trump POTUS should be a good start in repairing this!!!

What about grandfather and grandmother? Too many children in my area of the country are under the care of the grandparents. They are the ones holding down a job and trying to raise the grandchildren. . .forget the parents . . .many have not even begun to look for employment nor do they take an interest in their children. It is a sad day in America.
