The New Jersey ACLU is slamming the city's police department for a sting operation that netted 13 prostitution-related arrests this weekend, arguing that the department is wasting its time targeting "consenting" adults.
The arrests, according to a lengthy statement from ACLU-NJ Executive Director Udi Ofer, "raise concerns yet again about Newark's embrace of failed and destructive 'Broken Windows' policing strategies." "Using our criminal justice system to harass, arrest and incarcerate consenting adults who agree to exchange sex for money is a poor use of the NPD's limited resources," he said.

It’s taxed in other places........
Hamburger is someone from Hamburg.......
I thought Homburg was in Holland, but what do I know?
Its illegal only because government cant tax it.

Actually I believe it is taxed in Nevada, and also in many (or most?)European countries.
In Germany prostitution is legal, relatively disease-free, relatively free of white slavery and in most locations (Homburg, for example, excepted) conducted off the streets. The German system is better by every test except those which appeal to hypocrites

I went through the Saint Pauli section of Hamburg a couple of years ago and was told it was the red light section of the city. Also the location of the St. Pauli Girl Brewery. Didn’t see any streetwalkers but it was the middle of the day so they were probably all sleeping after a hard night’s work!
My neighbor here who runs a local restaurant used to be the proprietor of a Puff (bordello) in northern Germany but it went bankrupt. You can imagine my incredulity that anyone could bankrupt a whorehouse, a business in which you retain your inventory even after you sell it.
I think the profits went up his nose. His hero status in my eyes came down as rapidly as it had gone up (no double entendre intended).
If I was the spokesman for the city I would start out by saying “While it is appropriate and laudable for a son to look out for his mother’s financial welfare and the hope that his daddy will return as a paying customer there are better ways to earn a lving.
Rewrite! Guess ACLU wants them all to themselves.
After all, it is NEWARK.
Here in the DC area, they’ve been concentrating on the pimps. A lot of them are the usual suspects, but more and more of them are the illegal alien gangs who traffic other illegals (”Dreamers” in Obama lingo), often rotating them around the country so it’s harder to track both the sex slaves and the pimps.
I think the “johns” should be arrested, pathetic losers that they are, they probably could use a good shower in jail....
Years ago that was Newark’s strategy: arrest the johns and publicize their names. They also plastered areas with signs describing how you could contract AIDS. What a disgusting business...
That is worth repeating.
While they’ve had bank robberies and shoplifting, both are difficult in Newark; the businesses there understand they are dealing with bipedal hyenas that are opportunists and build accordingly. The small downtown is a police state during daylight hours (during the week), and a ghost town otherwise. Most of the crime occurs in areas that haven’t seen a W-2 issued in decades.
Many of the properties literally with broken windows in Newark are already owned by the city, which doesn’t have the money even to demolish them. It is a bankrupt failure of socialist policies and government makework & corruption, a city that has outlived its usefulness and now is just a welfare economy.
Human trafficking of illegal alien prostitutes around the United States is a growing problem which the pro-amnesty folks want to keep secret. The pimps literally trade the girls around in what would be described as a volume business model. Not a consensual situation for most of the girls. Even if they want to be hookers, they probably don’t want to give up money to their pimps.
No, I’m just not going to waste time on your brain dead logic.
