Al Gore, John Edwards, John Dean, Bernie Sanders all have been vetted. Plenty of losers to pick from.

Yes, he is clearly correct. The popular vote in the states elects electors. Then the electors vote for President.
If the Democrat candidate is unavailable, the Democrat party could simply tell its electors from each state to vote for a replacement. Electors can vote for whoever they want. This was a safeguard built into the election process to assure against corruption.
Elector votes are valid. There might be challenges, but if enough electors voted for someone other than the person on the ballot, that person would be the President.

At this point, its no longer about saving Hillary, whose is damaged goods but preserving the party.

Does anyone doubt that in the event of a narrow Trump win, there will be incessant calls from Dems, nevertrumpers, and there pals in the MSM for the electors to “vote their conscience”.
They tried this with Bush/Gore. Lets just say I hope that Utah’s 6 electoral votes are not needed.

Exactly. If they ever do replace her, those who have voted for her, their votes won’t count. Which states have early voting? Any swing states?
As I understand it, their votes *will* count; they’ll just go, through the electors, to whomever the party puts in her place.
And we haven’t even seen the latest emails Assange has. We’ll get them starting next week.
