KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Kansas City Chiefs cornerback Marcus Peters raised his fist through the national anthem before Sunday's game against the San Diego Chargers at Arrowhead Stadium, as the team interlocked their arms.
The Chiefs won't be alone in their demonstration during the Star Spangled Banner on Sunday. The Seattle Seahawks have said they also plan to stand and interlock arms. Their opponent in the game, the Miami Dolphins, plan to take another approach.
Dolphins running back Arian Foster told ESPN's Bob Holtzman that he plans to take a knee and raise his fist during the national anthem. He said some of his teammates will join him. Foster said Dolphins players met on Friday and agreed to make their own decision on how to handle Sunday's anthem.
I agree, and not just because he screwed over Tom Brady (controversial here if you're not from NE).
How can he pressure and threaten to fine players who wanted to wear special 9/11 cleats while allowing this sideline crap during the national anthem on 9/11? Why give a mostly patriotic fan base the finger?
I’m typing this from the Falcons game. Lots of fans dressed as empty red seats
Exactly. I already don’t watch much partially because of the National Felons League aspect of things. This just adds insult to injury.
More likely shooting 3-year-olds by mistake because Spike Lee taught them to hold a pistol sideways before they pull the trigger. If Al Sharpton held shooter training in those neighborhoods so that they hit the other gangbanger they are actually shooting at instead of uninvolved bystanders, the quality of life would improve.
I wonder if Goodell would discipline a player who raised his arm to protest the lies of Obama/Clinton?
Wow! That was quick. Dressed as empty seats, I like it.
Glad the Texans got rid of Foster......no surprize that he’d join in at some point in time.
Unbelievable...and on 9/11 :(
And monopolies tend to lose touch with what their customers want.
If they politicize football, then I look forward to taking the NFL down a few notches as fans desert them for something else.
The gentlemen who pull these stunts to protest racial inequality need to consider:
1. That they live in a country that has provided them a means to become multimillionaires without their ever doing a lick of useful work.
2. That one of their own has been President of the United States for over seven years. Are things worse for them today than they were seven years ago? If so, take it to him.
3.That after fifty years of welfare programs, affirmative action, and other preferential treatment and remedial efforts, the condition of many blacks is worse than it was fifty years ago. I grew up outside East St. Louis, Illinois. It was a black-majority but functioning city fifty years ago, a place with business and industry, a place with jobs, a place you could enter without fearing you would exit it in a coroners vehicle. Today, it is not.
4.That wherever blacks live as a majority or a large minority are places infested with crime, drugs, violence, ruined neighborhoods, poverty, failed schools, failed families, and are largely lacking any traits of what would normally be considered civilization. Whose fault is that? Not mine, and not Americas generally.
Well, their little SJW demonstration sure got them off to a slow start! Seems as if changing the pre game routine would be a big distraction if you were trying to focus. Maybe that’s why they didn’t gear up til late in the game. Jerks!!
I have notified my FB friends I am removing all NFY game posts from my time line.
The reason the NFL is bigger than all the other US pro-sports combined is the huge number of casual fans. The casual fans like the celebrations and chest slapping, the glitz, and rules that promote scoring. I could be wrong, but I can’t see them caring enough about this controversy enough to stop watching and bring ratings down.
The ratings are already down. The opening night Thursday was down by quite a bit. I normally watch a ton of nfl games. But I only turned on the Cowboys Giants game. None of that crap was happening here in Texas. I won’t watch any other games. Ratings are going to dive as people hear about more of their stupidity
Thanks. If the ratings take a sustained hit, the NFL will do something.
Freegards
Amen, and I am no Brady or Bellichek fan but get real arseholes
But a constant protest -- week after week -- will probably hurt the sport's public image. Let's see.
And I’ll do what I am going to do — BOYCOTT those losers...
America loves the NFL. I don’t know if ratings will decrease. We’ll have to find out on Wednesday.
Boycott the NFL!

Yes, and shame on people who do not boycott the NFL. I don’t understand how anyone can, with a clear conscience, continue to watch these clowns disrespecting their country. Are these people really that hard-up for amusement? Unbelievable!
