Good morning AB, All.

Yes good morning on this day of remembrance.

Thank you Bray for weekly wisdom and thank you yon commenters for fleshing it all out for me. It should be a good day for political junkees like ourselves. And of course, thank you AB for reliably doing this thread every week.

First, we are all deplorable, more on this later.

I wish I could say on the morning of 9/11/01 that I was mid-deep out saving people or handling the details. But like most Americans, I was living my life, a kind of boring one.

I remember thinking how it had been a slow news cycle and had the odd feeling that something big was about to happen. I was consulting for a property management firm near me and as the first airplane hit I was about to go out the door. The Fox and Friends people broke in with an emergency about a phone crashing into the World Trade Center. Just as I was about to leave for my job, ANOTHER plane hit. The Fox and Friends people got silent. “This is no accident,” one of the hosts said quietly.

I didn’t know whether to sit down and watch or get out into my car to go to work. America was under attack and I didn’t know what to do.

As it turned out I went to work that day. All the way I listened to the radio about the twin towers attack, then the pentagon got his. AT work the plane landed in Pennsylvania and at the point all the workers wanted to go home. None of us knew what was going on and believe it or not, MY DAUGHTER EVEN CALLED ME THAT DAY. Because once upon a time she really loved me. Everyone was calling loved ones that day. My beloved husband also called me and in due course I was on my way back home.

The Baltimore beltway was bumper to bumper. All of Baltimore was letting out early PLUS we had the workers pouring in from DC. It was horrible, scary…..everyone just wanted to get home.

Now about us all being deplorable….or at least half of us….man if I had to say there was one thing that will cost Hillary this election it’s got to be her calling half of Trump supporters deplorable.

Deplorable? Deplorable means without merit, worthless, not worth living. Deplorable means no reasonable traits worth keeping alive. A deplorable dog at a rescue site would be quickly scheduled for euthanasia.

Serious, did someone actually WRITE that word for her to use? Yes, calling Trump supporters any names of all is stupid but the worst word has to be deplorable. Because come on, Trump supporters are not deplorable, come on, not even Hillary’s supporters are deplorable for God’s sakes!

I am so furious about her calling me this name….furious.

And please note her quick flaccid apology yesterday.

This is her Waterloo, I am serious.

Another consequence of 9-11 for me was it was the day I joined FreeRepublic. Been raising hell and taking names ever since.

And please note her quick flaccid apology yesterday.

Hillary didn't apologize. Clinton, in her apology, also said: “I regret saying ‘half’ -- that was wrong. But let's be clear, what's really ‘deplorable’ is that Donald Trump hired a major advocate for the so-called ‘alt-right’ movement to run his campaign and that David Duke and other white supremacists see him as a champion of their values.”

This is Clintonian parsing of language. Maybe, it is not half, maybe it is more or less. And then the obligatory David Duke inclusion. This is a non-apology apology.
