Bet that place is packed to overflowing! I’m in the KC metro area and didn’t even know Clinton was here until the pictures of her half filled venue started popping up online. Great election. Best since Reagan. By God’s Grace we head onto victory in November.

Lol - I was up at 5:30 and was looking for our new thread for the day. I was going to post something about it being late, but I thought, give poor nikos a break! He’s up at the crack of dawn most days, making sure there’s somewhere for lysie to serve breakfast.

I am home making pies today, so will be tuned in and out all day long.

I’m trying to figure out how this whole electoral college thing works, and why the dems seem to automatically have it in the bag unless a warrior can overcome the odds. Something doesn’t make sense to me, but I don’t completely understand it.

We will fast breakfast while you’re undergoing renovations - pray it all goes well and you have a smooth recovery.

Thank you. It will be a piece of cake if it’s like the one I had eight years ago on my left hip.

Hi everyone. I just registered here today even though I have been reading here for what seems like years. Is there a help section here to help explain how all this works, like how a “ping” works. I clicked on the (see help for more information) link but nothing happened. Thanks in advance and excited to actually get to join in here.

I have to say that I am really impressed with your breakfasts, now that I know you’ve been whipping them up with a bad hip! You’re a trooper!

-- A heads up. I won't be serving breakfast for a few days next week. Hip replacement is Monday. --

Will be thinking of you and praying for an uneventful surgery. Medical advances the past 30 years have been incredible, God is good!

When you return, you will be facing a hoard of hungries ... but you knew that.

Technically, the EC is state by state allocation of votes for president, with 538 elector votes being cast to decide who will be president. The more populous states have more electors. California and New York are reliably DEM, and California has 55 votes, NY has 29.

I think a better way to view the phenomenon is as urban vs. rural, with an eye on states where urban voters dominate.

Hi Ladybug!

Welcome to FR (officially) and to the Trump Family (that’s what we call ourselves) rally thread for today. Nikos faithfully posts a new thread every day that Trump has a rally. Whilst we’re waiting for the rally to begin, we often chat about recipes, what we’re doing for the day or other news events - hope you’ll join in. You can usually find these threads in the sidebar under Breaking News or by searching trumprallytoday as a keyword in “search”.

All - please add if I left out something or change if I mis-stated something
Pings - there are member lists on FR. As an example, many people have asked Nikos (creator and manager of the ping list for the rally threads) to be on the Trump Rally thread lists.

If you want someone to see a post just add their FR name to the post. I sometimes will add someone’s name to the 1st post in a thread if I think the thread will be of interest to them on a particular topic (usually something to do with something happening in their state).

To see if you’ve been pinged, go to the top of the FR page (with all of the articles on it) and you’ll see “New Posts to You”. That will show if anyone has pinged you to a post or thread as well as show all of your posts.

Top of page looks like this:

Hope that helps!

Best,
SC

Welcome. A ping is just a message "to" somebody, and that causes the "Posts to you" link to appear to the person you posted a message to. If you send a message with the "Private reply" link, it send what is referred to as freepmail - messages that are entirely on the FR website, but visible only to the individual correpsondents.

The fact that you were able to post a message shows that you've got the basics down just fine.

Good point about being able to "post reply" to more than one person. The "To:" field can have many names, separated with semicolons (maybe commas work here too, I don't know). A public post can be to hundreds of individuals. That's all that a "ping list" is, a list of names that the list holder applies in the "To:" field of the "Post Reply" function. And like magic, every individual reader gets a "New Posts to You" link.

That’s actually the conclusion I was coming to - just like up here, urban vs. rural.

There are many in small town and rural Ontario who think traditionally, but throw in Toronto and Ottawa, and a few other cities, and it doesn’t make any difference what rural Ontario thinks. These liberals, combined with the immigrants (and there are TONS of them) render the rest of us irrelevant. Something wrong.
