...One of the small Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps watercraft stopped directly in the USS Firebolt’s path where it turned to face the American coastal patrol ship, said U.S. Navy Capt. Jeff Davis, a Pentagon spokesman. After several attempts at radio communication, the Firebolt was forced to maneuver to avoid a collision. The American ship came within about 100 yards of the boat...

They have a few months to have fun. Then the war between Iran and the USA—one that has been going on—will erupt into violence. We need to crush the tyrant mullahs and replace the Shahs son on the thrown.

I suspect the displacements are a bit off (if you meant it that way for a purpose...I missed it!)

The USS Firebolt is around 350 tons, and I think the Iranian “patrol boats” are considerably less.

I will say, the USS Firebolt is a nice looking vessel to my eyes! (and I like the name as well)

Another reason to not mothball or scrap battleships.

The “sphere of destruction” that a US battleship projects is truly awesome.

“.....They daren’t run it down. It could be packed solid with HE to explode under the keel.’’’”

as a former vet, my first instinct was ..ooops... run it over.

but your commit is a good one, and for that reason, be avoided.

but we should invoke a “kill zone” that any vehicle within that area is taken out.... but that takes a POTUS with ??

Thanks

Just run over them. Pretty simple, huh?

Closing on a warship could be taken as hostile - see the USS Cole attack. I will be thrilled when we have a real American as Commander-in-Chief and our forces are allowed to protect themselves. The USS Firebolt is only 330 tons, but she has chain guns, grenade launchers, and 12.7 mm machine guns. That should get the job done if the Captain and Crew are permitted to act like Americans instead of continuing to apologize that responsible people succeed while lazy slugs (Obama's natural constituency) always fail.

Hmm. Hadn’t thought of that. Then treat it like they treated mideavil witch suspects. Lob several high explosive shells into it, and if it doesn’t detonate in spectacular fashion then it wasn’t packed with HE. That sounds like a fair test.

I do like the way you think...
