Pardon my ignorance, but what is meant by snowflakes? I have an idea of the meaning,but would like to know.

Is a young millennial with some college under their belt who thinks they are very enlightened, cosmopolitan, and _superior_ about issues of race, ethnicity, morality, religion, sex, and politics. They regard themselves and others like them as very special, “forward-thinking”, and “post-racial”—despite their lack of real-world experience. They tend to melt when confronted with opinions at odds with those they were taught to hold. Or when caught in situations their education never covered. They seek out “safe places” when they “feel” “threatened.”
The more militant and courageous of their kind don’t necessarily “melt” before opposition—but do have absurdly thin skins. That sort is known as a “Social Justice Warrior” or SJW.
