The burkini ban in some French coastal towns continues to stoke controversy well beyond the country's borders.
Many people regard the bans, now overturned in certain municipalities, as sexist, Islamophobic and — most of all — counterproductive to assimilating Muslims into the country.
Now, Marie-Shirine Yener (aka Maeril), a 21-year-old artist and illustrator from Paris - has created an illustrated guide for bystanders who see Muslims who are being harassed.
Remember the 20-something illustrator here in the U.S. who proposed a "Draw Mohammed Day"? She's still in hiding...

Where’s the guide to how to handle those uncomfortable situations when a Muslim starts hacking away an infidel’s head, or throwing grenades, or emptying an automatic rifle into a crowded theater or bar, or when he drives down the boardwalk killing pedestrians, or “just happens to be” wearing a suicide vest. How awkward is that?
“The Middle Eastern Feminist” is not your typical ‘Feminist’, then again the West’s so-called Feminists don’t speak out against the injustices experienced by Middle Eastern womyn.

But seriously, in my 50+ years on this planet and a lot of riding on NYC trains, I have never seen an act of aggression against a Muslim by a non-Muslim. Of course, as we all know, plenty of that happens the other way around.
