Professors tell students: Drop class if you dispute man-made climate change ( Colorado )

We will not, at any time, debate the science of climate change’

Three professors co-teaching an online course called “Medical Humanities in the Digital Age” at the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs recently told their students via email that man-made climate change is not open for debate, and those who think otherwise have no place in their course.

“The point of departure for this course is based on the scientific premise that human induced climate change is valid and occurring. We will not, at any time, debate the science of climate change, nor will the ‘other side’ of the climate change debate be taught or discussed in this course,” states the email, a copy of which was provided to The College Fix by a student in the course.

Signed by the course’s professors Rebecca Laroche, Wendy Haggren and Eileen Skahill,

The professors also note this ban on debate extends to discussion among students in the online forums

Hmmm, I'd have thought that glass would be fairly easy. Must be something to do with separating out the colors.

Uses for recycled plastic and paper are fairly limited. You want to drink out of a murky looking bottle, or read reports on a brownish-gray paper?

My understanding is that metals are fairly fungible. Since people are still stealing things like steel and copper for scrap, I'm thinking that there's plenty of market for it. When thieves start pilfering the newspaper out of your mailbox to sell for scrap...you'll know that the market has taken off there, too. ;-)

Pissing off liberals floats my boat. Throwing recyclables in the garbage in front of liberals is more fun than eating pork in front of Muslims. I have always known that recycling didn’t save any energy. I spent a summer working my way through school in a recycling plant.

Five hundred years ago, a liberal professor in southern Europe: “Since it is settled science that the Earth, center of the universe, is flat and if you reach the edge you will fall off, there will be no discussion of that heretic Copernicus’ harebrained theories”.

“We will not, at any time, debate the science of climate change.”

My guess is the statement above translates to “We don’t know the first thing about the fundamental science involved in “climate change”, but since we believe there’s a “scientific consensus” about it, and since it is a basic tenet of “progressive” thought, you better accept it without bothering us with inconvenient facts we can’t in our ignorance refute”.

Recycling is one of the few lib tenets that makes some sense, so we’ll have to agree to disagree.

“Everything else? Useless feel-goodism.”

Back in the 1950s, when the Earth was young, we used to have paper drives. We’d set up a huge bin (this was before dumpsters) and ask everyone to deposit their old newspapers. The newspapers were then sold—I thought to paper mills, for use in the production of paper.

I’m pretty sure they weren’t losing money on the deal.

No one expects the Climate Change Inqusition. No different than when Church officials demanded a repudiation of Galileo’s research that proved the earth moves around the sun.
