So many people misunderstand the issues.
This software scrubs data from a disk. It overwrites existing data. On magnetic drives, the data may be recoverable but it takes some high tech. On edrives the data is scrubbed for good. If I owned the company I’d tout it’s capabilities.
From a legal perspective the use of the software is questionable, to say the least. Hillary should never have used this software to delete what should have been public records.
The use of a private email server was a premeditated move enabling questionable legal actions.
The email server data is available from hackers taking advantage of the inept vulnerabilities of the email server itself, and the FBI’s ability to recover data from “scrubbed” magnetic drives.
And, of course, emails reside on multiple servers, the sender and the receiver. Who knows how many hackers compromised those servers?
As all the new revelations trickle out and are accepted as truth, Wikileaks could eventually release something horrifying that they make up, and present as a leaked fact. The Hillary campaign couldn’t disprove the leak, since she took the extraordinary steps of deleting and destroying the incriminating government documents and then sanitizing the file cabinet.
I do think Wikileaks is smart to keep everything straight so that they can maintain credibility. There is value in that.
On the other hand, Hillary has watched tens of thousands of emails get released and she has never said, "This stuff is all fakes and forgeries! I never sent those emails!" Because she has not protested any previous emails, if they did release a fake email from her to ISIS saying:
"If you give $10M to my foundation, I can have nuclear device available to you in Benghazi. All you have to do is storm the embassy, kill the ambassador, and steal the nuclear device. I can make this go smoothly for you if you deposit the $10M in my Swiss account, as usual."
Of course Hillary would declare this one a fake. But how many people would believe her?
There’s a problem now for her to protest any future email as a lie. By only protesting an egregious NEW release, her silence on earlier leaks would be validating all the previous emails as factual.
She may well do that when the time comes, because none of the previously disclosed emails have brought her down.
