Dr. Martin Luther King’s Niece Endorses DONALD TRUMP – “I Fully Agree with So Many Things That He’s Saying”

Dr. Aveda King, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s niece endorsed Donald Trump for president.

She says his plan for the black community “is promising.”

Martin Luther King Jr.'s niece has just endorsed Donald Trump, noting his "plan for urban communities is promising"

Dr. Alveda King spoke with FOX Business Network.

Dr. Alveda King: I have listened very carefully to everything Mr. Trump has said in the last 72 hours or so and I fully agree with so many of the things that he’s saying. He has taken a page from the book of my daddy, A. D. King, and my uncle Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. looking at the climate, people and really being concerned about what’s happening in every community across America.

Wouldn’t it be amazing if she campaigned along side Trump? Her life would definitely be in danger if she did.

I can’t believe how much we have been saying that sentence in the last few months. It’s like we are The Philippines or some banana republic. terrible what has taken place in this country because of Hilliary and obama,

They were both Dems. The article about MLK being a Republican was debunked a long time ago. He was very enamored of big government, Socialist solutions to problems.

So Alveda King is a liar?

In this election? It’s all too easy to be a “NeverTrump”. Get plenty of media praise and still claim to be a Republican.

She was originally for Carson. Switching to Trump isn't a surprise.

A liar ? No. But she is mistaken and doesn’t tell the whole story. Her grandfather (MLK, Sr.) WAS a Republican until early 1960 when he switched to supporting the Democrats (following MLK, Jr’s arrest). At no point from then on did either EVER support Republicans for the Presidency. MLK, Jr. described Goldwater in 1964 as the “tool of Southern racists.” He did not live to the 1968 General Election, but would’ve been supporting Humphrey. MLK, Sr. supported Jimmy Carter and appeared at the 1976 Dem. National Convention (despite Carter’s racist and race-baiting background during the 1970 Gubernatorial primary against ex-Gov. Carl Sanders, a pro-Civil Rights candidate). Alveda King herself was elected to the GA House of Representatives as a Democrat in 1978 and didn’t switch parties until long after she left office in 1983.

Well, of course! YOU know much more than the niece of Martin Luther King Jr.

I’ve got an idea! Why don’t YOU make a YouTube challenging her?

I think I’ll take my side with her rather than some anonymous poseur who can easily make things up.

I don’t know what your problem is or why you’re acting hyper-emotional over this. Did you read my post at all ? I gave you explicit dates and points. I’ve studied this for years and discussed this subject at length here. Have you ?

Voices Of Change: Martin Luther King Sr.

“A supporter of former governor Jimmy Carter, King was instrumental in garnering the support of civil rights activists for Carter’s bid for the Presidency. Carter asked King to deliver invocations at both the 1976 and 1980 Democratic National Conventions.”

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alveda_King
Alveda Celeste King

“former state representative for the 28th District in the Georgia House of Representatives. From 1979-83, King represented the 28th District in the Georgia House of Representatives.[15] The district included Fulton County,[16] and King served as a Democrat.[17]

In 1984, Alveda King ran for the seat of Georgia’s 5th congressional district in the United States House of Representatives and supported the Rev. Jesse Jackson for president.[18] The 5th Congressional seat, at the time of King’s campaign was held by Wyche Fowler. Andrew Young, who held the seat prior to Fowler, endorsed Hosea Williams, one of Martin Luther King, Jr.’s most trusted lieutenants and perhaps best known for organizing and leading the first Selma March.

The Republican Party geared its appeal and program to racism, reaction, and extremism. All people of goodwill viewed with alarm and concern the frenzied wedding at the Cow Palace of the KKK with the radical right. The “best man” at this ceremony was a senator whose voting record, philosophy, and program were anathema to all the hard-won achievements of the past decade.

Senator Goldwater had neither the concern nor the comprehension necessary to grapple with this problem of poverty in the fashion that the historical moment dictated. On the urgent issue of civil rights, Senator Goldwater represented a philosophy that was morally indefensible and socially suicidal. While not himself a racist, Mr. Goldwater articulated a philosophy which gave aid and comfort to the racist. His candidacy and philosophy would serve as an umbrella under which extremists of all stripes would stand. In the light of these facts and because of my love for America, I had no alternative but to urge every Negro and white person of goodwill to vote against Mr. Goldwater and to withdraw support from any Republican candidate that did not publicly disassociate himself from Senator Goldwater and his philosophy.

King barnstormed the country on behalf on Johnson in 1964, “maintaining only a thin veneer of nonpartisanship,” according to biographer Nick Kotz. King called Johnson’s win a “great victory for the forces of progress and a defeat for the forces of retrogress.”

Here is what King had to say about Ronald Reagan, the hero of modern Republicans:

When a Hollywood performer, lacking distinction even as an actor can become a leading war hawk candidate for the Presidency, only the irrationalities induced by a war psychosis can explain such a melancholy turn of events.

In 2008, King’s son Martin Luther King III said “It is disingenuous to imply that my father was a Republican.”

So, again, please tell me exactly what part I’m in the wrong about. If you can correct any of the above facts and quotes, feel free to. I’ve never understood this bizarre fetish to make over MLK, Jr., who was a LEFT-winger, trained here in Tennessee at the subversive Communist Highlander Folk School, as some sort of crusading Conservative Republican. It’s a falsehood and an outrageous bit of historical revisionism.

Earlier this year I heard MLK, Jr. in his own words on Merv Griffin’s Show from the 1960s calling Communism a viable competitive ideology to that of America’s Republican Democracy. It was he who helped sell the bill of goods to American Blacks that Socialism and Big Government Welfare State was the solution to their problems. He could not have been more wrong. If you wish to take issue with that point, that’s on you to refute it and source your rebuttals, because it’s a matter of historic record.

Remember, again, Alveda King herself was a Democrat while holding office and when running for Congress in both 1984 and 1986. That contradicts her point about the family being Republicans.

The Republican Establishment propaganda regarding the King Family is too thick for me to eat, much less swallow.

Dr. King’s father was supportive of the GOP for many years but MLK and his dad (1960) did support JFK in the end, then MLK went to work with protests to force the Democrats to back away from the segregationists in their ranks.

This led to MLK supporting LBJ in 1964 but he broke ranks with the Dems over the Vietnam War joining the anti-war protest movement.

I addressed more about it in post #28. I don’t get why some FReepers wish to perpetuate a myth and falsehood even when the facts are laid out before them. The hysterics are beneath these folks’ dignity.

Just in re-reading Jr. King’s position on Goldwater, it was the worst sort of propaganda. Reminds me of the old anecdote, “They told me if I voted for Goldwater, we’d have an endless war in Vietnam, race riots and a societal breakdown. Well, I did, and they were right !” Of course, that was LBJ who delivered us all that insanity on a silver platter (or rather, on a garbage can lid).

Ironically MLK poked at JFK and LBJ so hard that those Democrat presidents used the FBI against King. The FBI made audio recordings from the hotel-motel rooms of MLK’s sexual activities with prostitutes.

I strongly suspect the decision by MLK and other Civil Rights leaders to suspend protests in July of 1964 to help Johnson win the election was helped along by the FBI’s recordings of Dr. King’s sex life.

I also believe the Democrats and LBJ brought in “The Great Society” with its massive infusion of federal funds into urban areas in part to control black people and keep them from committing violence by literally ‘paying them off’ with welfare.

Now 50 years later the Dems are having to confront the drug fueled urban violence against civilians and police alike that they cannot pacify with more welfare programs.
