I think it is not so much that the white middle class is being targeted for destruction. It is more that progress towards destruction of the middle class has been so much more successful with minorities, as in preventing certain minorities from ever reaching middle class status.

The main difference is that feudalism was a far better deal, it only seems better now because we have far more productive methods to produce things. If the feudal lords had taken as high a total PERCENTAGE of production as modern government does the serfs would have starved. We may ride in automobiles rather than oxcarts but the government takes a much larger portion of what we produce than it ever could have in those days.
