Half of Germans oppose German Chancellor Angela Merkel seeking a fourth consecutive term, according to a survey published on Sunday in the newspaper Bild am Sonntag.
The survey, conducted by the polling company Emnid, asked 501 Germans in August whether or not they would like to see Angela Merkel serve another term as Chancellor after the federal election in second half of 2017.
Results showed that 50 percent of poll participants were against a new term for the Chancellor, while 42 percent were in favor. She has come under fire from both citizens and fellow politicians for her refugee policies.

They better get rid of her soon if they want to save their nation.
The more amusing question, which they didn’t want to ask for this poll....who exactly do people want to see rise up to the position.
From the top ten CDU players....at least two are talking retirement next year, and five of them are losers at campaigning. So the only real choices from the CDU are the Pfalz player Julie Klockner and the current defense minister Ursula von der Leyen. Neither are prime material for chancellor in my humble opinion.
From the SPD? Gunter Gabriel? They will be lucky to get 20-percent in the election.
After that....it goes way downhill.
The public may be unhappy, but there’s no one really standing there with enthusiasm or charm to fill Merkel’s shoes.
She needs another term to finish her task of destroying the ‘western civilization’ part of German history.
Yeah. Hitler's dead. (as far as we know...)
And so is Generalissimo Francisco Franco ...
I can’t believe she is getting higher than the 20s.
Life term in prison for this treasonous bitch.
50% against 42% for, that sounds like a landslide LOSS to me.
The problem is what would replace her would be even worse.
And so is Chevy Chase’s career.
