Think about it—would you like to be a third party candidate taking away votes from Hillary?

She is either amazingly stupid or has incredible courage.

She better hope she stays way below the radar.

I’d vote for Stein before I’d vote for Fake-a-hontus.

Hillary Clinton is a perfect example of why the two party system is bad.

Louisiana does their election differently. A candidate has to get over 50% to win. If no one gets 50% on election day, there is a run-off vote between the top 2 candidates.

I like the idea that you must get 50% plus one vote to win. I really hate the idea that they do the election all over again.

So, here's my idea:

You do the run-off at the same time as the regular election. Instead of just voting for your candidate of choice, you would rank the candidates from first to last. This way, if no candidate gets 50%, rather than go to a runoff, the ballots are simply recounted. Anyone who didn't pick one of the top two candidates as a first choice would get his vote switched to the 2nd or 3rd or... choice. With this method you would get to vote for the Libertarian/Communist/Green/Constitution party candidate without handing the election to Hillary.

Your ranking approach is very interesting, and might work well with an informed and savvy electorate. Sadly, I don’t think our general electorate would take the time to educate themselves enough on the process in order to make it work.

Warren, the Harvard bankruptcy law professor elected to the Senate in 2012, is worth between $3.7 million and $10 million.
That’s not including the three-story Victorian home in Cambridge, Mass., that she owns with her husband and fellow Harvard law professor, Bruce Mann. It’s now assessed at $1.9 million, according to city property records.
Another poor liberal progressive helping the poor

You should only hope that the Greens will siphon off Hillery votes to give the election to Trump. The Greens are communists. They may be naive Karl Marx idiots yet they are evil. So...they are less evil than completely corrupt Hildabeast!? Gee big deal. Barf alert. The Greens are disgusting

A bit of perspective.

"As they began to sing and praise, the Lord set ambushes against the men of Ammon and Moab and Mount Seir who were invading Judah, and they were defeated. The Ammonites and Moabites rose up against the men from Mount Seir to destroy and annihilate them. After they finished slaughtering the men from Seir, they helped to destroy one another.

When the men of Judah came to the place that overlooks the desert and looked toward the vast army, they saw only dead bodies lying on the ground; no one had escaped.." 2 Chronicles 20:22-24

You make sense. But I don't the political manipulators are going to let go.

They are happy with their hands around the throat of America.

There is only an illusion directed at the feeble minded. Hillary is in bed with Goldman Sacks.

Bill Clinton signed of on Glass Steagall and put the investment banks on top of our government.

Sadly, I don’t think our general electorate would take the time to educate themselves enough on the process in order to make it work.

This is a very late reply:

You are almost certainly right that a good portion of the electorate would have difficulty with this. I'm not sure that would be such a bad thing. It would be a kind of pseudo-literacy test.
