Article doesn’t speak to religion, but jihadi seems unlikely based on his name. The killer is a multi-conviction felon released in December 2015. Served long terms in the 80s and 90’s for armed robbery.

The public needs to insist that career criminals stay in jail so they don’t have the opportunity to murder good people. Because eventually they will.

“...released in December 2015...”

Eight months later he murders two elderly women, probably just to steal their crappy car.

Great, just great.

Now he will live out his days behind bars. He could have just stuck up a bank if that’s what he wanted, he didn’t have to kill two old women.

Pig, I hope someone breaks his neck for him and saves the taxpayers the cost of a trial.

I have a little different take.

Prison ("jail") takes bad people and makes them worse. It makes some of them a lot worse. And for sociopaths? It's a freaking tuition free UNIVERSITY.

I favor abolishing prisons.

Anybody who hurts another person (stabs, shoots, bludgeons, etc) in the commission of a felony (or as a solo felony) should be killed. We don't know how to fix what's wrong with them. They are a constant danger to guards and other inmates. And they will, as you say, do it again. So, kill 'em the first time.

Property crime without injury to persons should be dealt with by physical punishment (lashing, stocks, branding, etc) with capital punishment for re-offenders.

Paper crime ("white collar crime") should be dealt with by restitution where possible, including confiscation of assets.
