The incident in question was 1974. We didn’t even have cordless landline phones then. In 1974 a friend had a car phone that took up half of the floor space in the front of his Cadillac. Then, you had to wait @ 2 years to even get a car phone, it cost a LOT of money ($1500 in 1970s $$$s), you had to place the call thru a mobile phone operator AND maybe could connect with about 15% of your calls.
