You are correct. The progressive-left-media-government-complex (to paraphrase Eisenhower) has really grasped huge power over society that it never had before. Technology has partially contributed to this, but my own belief is that our Government at all levels - and particularly the many cronies and ideologues who depend on it, have grown fat off printed money and massive debt.
Americans also are increasingly a kept, sheeplike people - they may be confused or dismayed by non-stop political-social agitation, so they eventually convince themselves to agree with the narrative being pushed.

OK with rights, but NOT special rights that infringe on mine and endanger others. I view them as highly and tragically confused human beings being used as a political football. Sad for all of us.

If Christian leaders of all kinds and other religious leaders, and the congregants, and believers, had GUTS and COURAGE none of this would be happening.
There is a phrase “the courage of one’s convictions”.
That courage is lacking and that is why we are in the rotten cesspool.
None of my friends do. The Daily Beast, right up there with the Wall Street Journal, says a poll is taken, probably in North Beach San Francisco, and says 72% of Americans are for transgender rights.
Can someone find a clause in the Bill Of Rights or the Constitution that mentions sexual rights? There is a difference between a right and a privilege. A privilege is a special entitlement granted to a restricted group or person, either by birth or on a conditional basis, and can be revoked. By contrast, a right is irrevocable and inherently held by all human beings. It is self-evident and universal under the laws of nature. Nature? For a transgender? A little conflict here.
So they don’t get rights. They get privileges. And those have to be awarded. Which way does your representative go? If he/she doesn’t go your way, you hold the power to stop them with your vote.

train of thought, the apathy I once had for ‘these people’ is reaching the ‘hate’ stage.
I will ‘agree’ with them now when they (tried to)compare ‘their’ movement to the Civil Rights movement of the 50s/60s, BUT as a result of LBJ etc, BO & his BS, I am beginning to actually see what my ‘peers’ were seeing back when I was trying to be tolerant and believed in- GIVE EVERYONE A CHANCE.
Just to prove hard, fair work pays off, back in my day while I and my peers were ‘protecting the shores’ from all enemies, foreign & domestic, young Jewish lads and lasses were registering the Blacks to vote in the deep south.
Several of the regiterers were set upon by the ‘ruling class’ while assisting their ‘Black Brothers’.
I really shake my head today when hearing that as a rule, Blacks HATE the Jews - the same Jews that assisted them in voting, extended credit to the needy, employed neighborhood yutes in their corner stores (Where they LIVED in the neighborhood, usually above the store).
I have tried to be tolerant my whole life and was actually ‘shocked’ when I found the only reason J Robinson couldn’t play in the Majors was because of his color.
So whatever my feelings and actions toward the Blacks in my youth and formidable days were, today I am just another ‘old White cracker’ so I will give fair warning:
If attacked or set upon, I am an equal opportunity type to hasten your journey in life to its swift ending, as I will shoot without prejudice no matter you be Black, White, Asian, Spanish or whatever else we cater to these days.
I may go down BUT if endangered I will fight/shoot back.

Ya, it’s one thing to talk about people’s rights, all of our equal rights, but another thing altogether to give special rights to sexually confused people.
Heck, the way the Hollywood idiots and popular culture has embraced “LGBT”, you would swear it’s now cool to be gay.
Now they are moving on to “transwhatever” people. Heck in a few years they may tell us that you just haven’t lived, until you have “transitioned” and had your sex change operation.

But the liberals tell us, that “gender identity” or “sexual identity” or whatever PC term is used, is based not on what’s between your legs, but what’s in your mind, between your ears, as they put it.
I saw one “trans” activist type on TV, and he said that he was weary of people asking him about what is in his crotch.
We are too focused on outward signs such as genitalia, he declared, and not really understanding gender identity, if we focus on people’s crotches.
That’s what these people are thinking, for what it’s worth.
I doubt the premise.
Get your addadicktome or your chopitoffame; I couldn’t care less. But don’t insist that I pay for your mutilation and hormones, and that I call call you something that you are not.
