This isn’t our grandparents immigration wave. A hundred years ago, most immigrants wanted to fully assimilate and become Americans (and the few who didn’t want to were more or less forced to anyway), and their wealth was truly earned because there was no welfare and you pretty much had to work to get what you had.

The Alinsky democrats have learned well over the last century, so today the immigrants are encouraged NOT to assimilate, and are kept dependent via welfare and all sorts of other freebies so that their children and grandchildren won’t make the mistake of leaving the democrat plantation.

Where to begin? I have worked on this issue for nine years and I am always amazed how ill-informed and ignorant most Americans are (no disrespect to you) when it comes to immigration, especially the unprecedented and continuous legal immigration that has been happening since 1965.

First, we have just had the two highest decades of legal immigration in our history and three out the past four decades have been the highest in history. By 2023, we will have more immigrants per capita than in our national history. In 1970 there were 9.7 million foreign born in this country compared to 42.4 million in 2014.

Comparing what happened in past immigration waves to what we have now is nonsense. The vast majority of past immigrants came from Western Europe. They shared a common cultural heritage in terms of Western Civilization and its values. Today, they are coming from Latin America and Asia in huge numbers. They are classified as minorities and are provided benefits like affirmative action and minority business set asides. These are incentives to identify with various groups rather than being an American and assimilating. Due to their growing numbers, Hispanics are not assimilating like previous groups. They support Big Government and all it entails.

The previous waves on immigration came before the advent of the welfare state in the US. It should come as no surprise that immigrants use to welfare system to a much greater extent than the native born. Immigrants are destroying the safety net for our own citizens and bankrupting state and local governments. They get far more out the system than they are contributing in terms of taxes.

Immigrants vote Dem more than two to one. They support the party of Big Government. Why do you think the Dems support amnesty and more legal immigration?
