Rush: What if there’s a silent pro-Trump majority out there that isn’t being polled?

He’s springboarding off of something WaPo reporter Robert Costa said a few weeks ago:

The most important voter in this movement, uh, when I travel around the country, is the previously disengaged voter. They’re almost a nonpartisan voter, but they’ve given up not just on the political process, but they’ve disengaged from civic society. They don’t really follow politics. If that’s a real coherent voting block, then Trump — regardless of the polls — will have a shot in November — and regardless of all the mistakes — because that’s a huge block. There’s so much of this country that rarely, if ever, votes, and if — for some reason — they come to the polls in droves, that changes everything.

Here’s Rush today, citing Salena Zito’s recent column about driving across Pennsylvania and seeing one Trump yard sign after another:

Call ’em the silent majority, the silent number or whatever. We’re gonna find in November just how many of them there are. We’re gonna find out in November how many of them show up and vote. We’re gonna find out a lot of things in November, ’cause I guarantee you these people are not being polled. They’re not being reached. And in an even greater sense the people responsible for polling and the editors and producers of major media networks. They’re not interested in these people…

So they are out there lurking, and every presidential year comes along and they stay home because it’s more of the same. They don’t have to a political party. The Tea Party, maybe, was a vessel for them. But Trump has come along and has ignited them. Trump has come along and reenergized them, and that’s who they are.

Trump is aware of the programming issues with voting machines. I have read that several experts in this area claimed that programming code can be easily hacked, and one man says that he has done so in Latin American elections. It is far easier to program the machines for a certain result than the old school methods such as counting the dead as voters, taking nursing home residents to the polls, paying derelicts money, liquor, or cigarettes to vote a certain way, etc.

What countermeasures can be taken? Can Trump's people sabotage the preprogrammed outcomes in certain areas? This election has seen more espionage through WikiLeaks, etc., than any one I can recall. Can Trump's people use countermeasures in the most critical sites of voter fraud, like South Florida, Philadelphia, Detroit, Cleveland, Milwaukee?

The country is gone…

Even if Trump wins it is just delayed

The First George Bush started the long decline

Tossed the Reagan revolution under the bus the first day

All he had to do was continue to cut the federal government

“...they are out there lurking, and every presidential year comes along and they stay home because it’s more of the same. They don’t have to a political party.”

I was that guy throughout my twenties and thirties. The one person who got me energized enough to vote during those years, was Ross Perot.

Although I had to give Reagan his due, I wasn’t quite ready to vote Republican yet, so when Perot fell apart I reluctantly voted for Clinton.

Boy, did I come to regret that. I didn’t vote again until 2000, when I enthusiastically voted R for the first time.

In 1936, Alf Landon polled well ahead of FDR, based on responses gotten from telephone subscribers and automobile registrations. This was breezily aired about by Literary Digest, and it looked like Landon would get some 57% of the popular vote.

Shock and awe as FDR was re-elected on the largest Electoral College vote margin in US history up to then. What happened is that the vast underclass then was NEVER asked what they thought of the current situation at that time, and they went resoundingly for Roosevelt, as the devil they knew in contrast to the devil they did not.

It turned out that most of this underclass, the persons kicked out of their homes and largely jobless, had no phones and few automobiles, and were not available for the polls collected. It may also be noted that VERY few African Americans actually voted then, either, and the vast majority of those who did vote supported Landon. But again, not a significant part of the electorate in 1936.

Today with the advent of cell phones, and the fact that there proportionately far fewer homes with land lines today compared to 2000, phone polling has once again become highly erratic.

If people even respond any more. Pollsters regularly get told to perform a biologically impossible act.

Who is going to stop the vote fraud?

The rule of law is dead or Hillary would be conferencing with her attorneys not campaigning.

Have you folks already forgotten how Hillary owned Comey and verified the rule of law is dead?

The ship is sinking and some would have us arrange the deck chairs.

Better wake up and get ready for “Madame President”.

Who is gong to stop her?

She ownes people in places we didn’t even know existed. That is exactly what the “Clinton Foundation” has always been about.
There is too much money riding on her.

How about that ransome paid by Obama?
Did we get some answers about that?
How about being told how the other 1.3 billion was paid?

We are like the little boy who’s dog got ran over by a garbage truck with its guts smashed out asking our parents to take it to the vet.

We can’t surrender. Trump is the last chance because if Hillary gets the courts we know the guaranteed result and once the left has secured the court its game over with or without her re-election. GOP that think they can just give up need to buck up and have faith. Our founders didn’t give up. Christ didn’t give up. Giving up isn’t an American value.

...a silent pro-Trump majority out there that isn’t being polled?

This appears to show up in on-line polls which occasionally show Trump crushing the beest 80/20.

We never answer the phone unless we recognize the caller. They could be trying to poll us. And even if we answered, by mistake, it is unlikely we would even agree to answer any questions.

I will say that in 2012, I was “excited” about possibly defeating Obama, thus my support for Romney. But now, I am excited about the candidate.

I am in NJ on the shore, while so many of my friends are for Hillary, I haven’t seen any signs or bumper stickers for her. But I have seen a handful of Trump yard signs.

“The country is gone.”

So what’s the point of hanging around here, then? If you’re convinced that there is no hope for America, every utterance you make here, will be of a demoralizing, defeatist tone.

Honestly, there’s not even any point in keeping the doors of Free Republic open, if we’re truly doomed. I haven’t noticed any changes to JimRob’s mission statement. He says he refuses to allow this place to become a platform for the doom and gloomers.

You want to buck his policy, or get back on board with the resistance?

I see people setting themselves up for disappointment if you believe that there is some vast hidden cache of voters out there. It almost never is the case.

This is an unusual election. There’s never been an election in recent times where the entire media bombards one of the candidates with negative stories.

Trump gets more negative stories in a day than Hitler got in a week during WWII. Never do I remember the media and members of a candidates own party piling on like this. That says to me they’re scared. Their internal polls tell them Hillary is in trouble, and their favored party is in trouble.

There are a lot of Trump supporters who refuse to talk politics and say who they favor. There are a lot who won’t take part in polls. Personally - I never answer my phone if I don’t know the person calling. I don’t know anybody who does’t totally screen their calls. But a lot of us will crawl over broken glass to get to the polls.

And those who are still in a snit over Cruz - screw ‘em. If they stay home and don’t support Trump and Hilliary wins at least I’ll have the satisfaction of seeing them in agony when they realize not only the abortion issue is lost, the entire country is lost. And it’s their fault!

There are two different fractions at play here, one is the ‘revolution’ the huge crowds you see at the Trump rallies and speeches...the other, ‘The Silent Majority’, those are the people who are not saying who they are voting for because they are voting for Trump...

Watch at the next rally you see, there are many Trump signs and there are people holding ‘The Silent Majority’ signs...

The Silent Pro-TRUMP Majority:

It seems that lately our lives have been getting more complicated, and we want to thank those of you who are brave enough to still associate with us regardless of what we have become.

The following is a recap of our current identities:

We were born white, which makes us racists.
We are fiscal and moral conservatives, which makes us fascists.
We are heterosexual, which makes us a homophobes.
We are non-union, which makes us traitors to the working class and allies of big business.
We are Christians, which makes us infidels.
We are older than 65 and retired, which makes us uselessly old people.
We think and we reason. Therefore, we doubt much that the main-stream media tells us, which makes us reactionaries.
We are proud of our heritage and our inclusive American culture, which makes us xenophobes.
We value our safety and that of our families. Therefore, we appreciate the police and the legal system, which makes us right-wing extremists.
We believe in hard work, fair play, and fair compensation according to each individual’s merits, which makes us anti-socialists.
We acquired a good education without student loans and no debt at graduation, which makes us some kind of odd underachievers.
We believe in the defense and protection of the homeland by all citizens, which makes us militarist.

Then, there is this newest problem – We’re not sure which bathroom we should use. - UNKNOWN

Why the hostility towards me? I’m not the enemy.

I had hope right up until Comey said he would not recommend charges.

Tell me how our guy will win when the game, as he said himself, is “rigged”?

I looked over your about page and you and I are on the exact same page except that I have accepted that the game is rigged and she ownes all the key players.

Our only actual hope is in the mechanisms left to us by the framers to stop tyranny.
