If you were born in this country, you are an American. Period. Screw this hyphenated-American crap. I agree with you.
Mostly true. But some people come here, have a kid, get the certificate, then go back home and raise the kid a Chinaman, Japanese, Korean, Saudi, etc.
And if you apply the "believes in the American ideals" test, at least half the country isn't Americans.
